How much do I love thee? Let me count the ways:
Thy awesome yet catchy music that fits so well into it's surroundings.
Thy great graphics and smooth animation (at the time)
Thy very enjoyable game play

Ect ect ect you get the idea.

What i really loved about this game was the fact there were secrets around pretty much every corner. Playing thought it a second time would yield more than the first run. It's a game that keeps old players happy no matter how many times they play it. Finding those secret stars when you were suppose to be looking in a treasure chest or finding a hole by the castle and dropping in to be rewarded with a blue exclamation mark box. Those are the things I treasure in Super Mario 64.

What I liked most about the game is how much is hidden throughout the game that keeps you interested to find all the secrets. You can beat the game and still have half of it to go cause of the secrets alone which makes it even more interested to play even now.
