I know that people have been active on the board via Wii, but I know they couldn't play in the Retro Game Room. I do not know if the PlayStation 3 would be any different, but I kind of doubt it. Give it a try and tell me if it worked.

Well the PS3 does support Java, and the Java plugin supports USB joypads... So maybe? It can't hurt to try it out, but it would be nice if you could reply with the results of your trails, and also the Firmware version you're using.

Yeah, I figured it should work on the forum. Like Lazlo said, PS3 supports Java. So if you can't get it to work with the Retro Game Room Plugin, maybe you could play using the Java Emulator. Give both a try to see.

Typically the Java emulator opens on its own as long as your computer has Java. With a PS3 it may be a bit more complicated. You'd at least have to make sure you have Java (or something that lets you run Java programs) on your system.

Even though the PS3 supports java, I have the feeling the RGR will not work right, nor will any of the Java emulators. Mainly because of the issue with how consoles deal with window "pop-ups" I'm sure there's some other technical reasons but that seems like a roadblock. As would the Drivers and things like that to emulate the video card, and controller hardware

so u have to plug a flash drive in (in ur computer not ps3) then u have to download the newest version of java and the java emulator then plug it in to ur ps3 thats how i got windows and itunes on my ps3 i just have to get a new flash drive before i can test the theory

thing1 : it could be because u have to pay to play online games with the 360 and Microsoft might feel like this is a breach of there contract so they fixed it.

rcarter2 : thought u might want to know my friend let me borrow his usb flash drive and..................... i can play the rgr if i download the newest form of java and (for some reason it wont work without it) the newest form of java emulator (i thought the emulator was included in the regular java) its a little slow at first but then its just the same oh and on the computer me and a friend cant play sim 2 the pets so its not just my computer r her computer its the game itself anyways i can play it on the ps3 no problem (had to download visual boy advance and the rom for the game to play it on my computer) its kinda awesome it just takes awhile to download the java emulator cus u have to find one compatible with the ps3(i thought all java emulators would be compatible but i guess not) anyways thought u would want to know i just like vizzed on the computer better even if it is a little slower cus its easier to post cus u don't have to deal with side scrolling to see every thing and u don't have to keep clicking yes open the plugin for every page but other than that its so ******* awesome. now just to make sure is this ok **** r is not allowed don't want to get in trouble for something like that
