I live kind of close to a college campus so there are a lot of 20 somethings (I am assuming) living in the court yard building I live in. The nice clean couple upstairs moved out and the old people from downstairs also moved out. They have been replaced by (I am assuming) students and young couples. So on the weekends or even on the weekdays when I'm up all night doing HW... I hear them doing it.. OMG IT IS SOOO NASTY!!! I feel like BASHING MY EARS IN!! I mean it's fine that they are having fun (still, eww) but I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR IT!!! I either have to leave the room or blast my headphones. It is really annoying because I would be watching TV or doing my homework and then I start hearing the howling whale monkeys from downstairs -_____-  I am traumatized by this at least once a week...

Yeah but the first time I ever heard it- the couple downstairs were middle aged and had very violent fights all the time but they would always make up... I was terrified from both the violent yelling, screaming, smashing and the less violent yelling that came afterwards (if you know what I mean)- that probably scarred me. I've been woken up in the middle of the night by it multiple times :'(

It's funny you mentioned that. About a week ago I was awakened by very loud moaning and some sexual phrases, it's funny, yet slightly gross at the same time. Iif it's trying keeping you up at night, you could ask them to keep it down at night.... but I wouldn't wish that awkward conversation upon anyone. I would just leave it if I were you.

This has happened to me when I was staying at my friend's house overnight- He lives in apartments. I'm not actually sure what is neighbors were doing, exactly, but it sounded pretty funny. In the end i was just like "meh" someone's enjoying themselves again, but i can see how some people can be a bit like "arrrgh i don't want to hear it"

My room used to be quite close to a extremely loud couple, So me and the other two flatmates would just blast random songs throughout the flat. It usually did shut them up and if it did not then we always had some kick ass music to listen to instead.

This is an on-going thing with living with my roommate. I cringe whenever it starts up and just try to block out the noise. I don't have a room here which sucks, I sleep on the couch and his room has a furnace which connects to the living room of the apartment. In other words the wall is not there.
