Guitar or drums. But if you have two unison guitars playing in a song then it's usually really fun to listen too because it leaves you with goose bumps. Bands like Avenged Sevenfold and Between the Buried and Me got me liking the sound of synchronized guitar playing. (:

I would have to say violin. The reason being it is so beautiful and it's tone is effective for bringing out strong emotions like love, sadness, or despair... I would say It's most effective at the end of an extremely intense song.

I don't know. If the song is kind of rock'ish, probably the bass. Country music I like to hear the regular guitar, and anything else is usually a toss-up between the electric guitar and the drums.

To add on from what I said earlier, an example of such a moment when electric guitars and violins work perfectly together are in songs such as "Now We Run" by Steve Vai.



And as for drums, I don't care for them much, but they're pretty much needed in almost all rock songs, so I guess I like to hear them at times, Nya~.

I'm a guitarist so I am biased to hearing guitars. Particularly when two guitars are in harmony like many Iron Maiden songs or when the guitar mimics the rythem and tone of the vocals during a solo.

Other than guitars I like to hear trumpets and trombones. Everyone knows you can't properly skank (dance to ska music) without a trumpet bustin out some nice lines.

To say the truth I cannot choose just one favorite. For me, every instrument can fit perfectly in a song if the rhythm is good for it.  But well, in this case, I'm gonna say that I really like the Erhu (Chinese instrument) the electric guitar, the piano, the cello and the organ. I like other instruments too, mostly of Chinese music, but... I don't really know their names xD.

I really like to hear the cello in songs, because it provides such a contrast to what usually happens in music. For example, the song "Secrets" is really good to me because they re-made a part from the Bach Cello Suites for the song and had an actual cellist play it.
