OAK vs GIO is very simple. It is just pokemon YELLOW, except for the following sprite changes -

OAK is now LANCE,

RED/ASH/your player is now OAK,

GREEN/BLUE/GARY/your rival is now GIOVANNI, TEAM ROCKET boss.

I enjoyed yellow, but if I ever wanted to play it again, I would play this. I liked playing as OAK, and beating GIOVANNI time and time again.

Few problems, though.

Your character's sprite in battle is still the defualt one, GIOVANNI's sprite in battle is still the defualt one, and GIOVANNI's RAICHU is replaced by EEVEE at the second battle. The hack seems like it took a second to make, but he never replaced any of the gameplay, so I don't really care. Still as good as pokemon yellow, if not better than replaying it.
