Alright, so... I've been using the Game Room for some time now, but I guess I might as well try out these forums. Yes, I'm pretty much a nOob when it comes to these kinds of things. So much so that I used to call myself a N0()B. Embarrassing... I've done a little bit of posting on other sites, but it's all been rather minimal. Anyway, I'm a 19yo who finally moved out of my parents' house about 6 months ago. I don't exactly know where to go career-wise, but I'm rather seriously considering sound engineering/mixing. I'm currently in college, but am simply doing basic required classes at this point. Favorite games are, for the most part, a little on the old side for my age, including, but not limited to: Atari 2600's Adventure Intellivision's Night Stalker The Guardian Legend (my favorite NES game) Final Fantasy (my second-favorite NES game) Phantasy Star (If only Sega used the FM synthesis in the US and EUR versions!) Phantasy Star IV Sonic 1-3 and Sonic & Knuckles Shining Force 1&2 Shinobi III Streets of Rage II Gunstar Heroes ToeJam & Earl 1 and 2 Knuckles' Chaotix (Under-appreciated, I tell you! Under-appreciated!) Lunar 1 and 2 Earthworm Jim (Sega CD version) Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (DX or normal, I don't really care) Final Fantasy Adventure Earthbound (I ain't Ness7281992 for nothin'!) Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past (the first game I ever bought) Super Mario World Live A Live (Why didn't they do a US release? Why?!) Kirby Super Star Final Fantasy V (The Super Famicom translation, specifically. The music, to me, sounds the best in this version) Super Metroid Chrono Trigger Star Wars Tie Fighter CD Star Wars Dark Forces DOOM II Wolfenstein 3D (PC version, not the SNES thing) Spear Of Destiny Commander Keen series Duke Nukem II Space Quest Series (3 being my favorite) Echelon (a beloved underdog PC game) ...And I should probably stop about here.
My favorite music is, for the most part, thrash metal (Metallica and Megadeth; I'm not picking sides), some Metalcore (As I Lay Dying, All that Remains), Avant-Garde Metal (An Endless Sporadic, Buckethead), Funk Metal (Rage Against The Machine, Praxis) and Seattle Sound/Grunge (Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Meat Puppets).
Books are mostly innovative Sci-Fi (Rendezvous With Rama, Dune, Childhood's End, Ender's Game, Flatland) with the exception of Harry Potter. And I hate Twilight.
In short... Hi.
