Sure, I used to day dream all day long and be a terribly worker, but with some guidance, and a lot of perseverance, (and I do mean a LOT0

I became a DECENT worker.

DECENT enough for my dad to keep me on the team and for me to wake up at 4:30 every morning and go make 30 bucks an hour on a school roof.

One you become the person you wanna be, you'll feel GREAT.

Judaism, and the Talmud addresses this topic pretty well, and That's why I love God, cuase He's got a plan, solution, and EVERYTHING that my life needs to be whole and complete! I can even talk to Him about ANYTHING! '

I don't think people have the capacity to change themselves out of free will.

Instead, I think that it's only external factors that cause internal change. Like, it requires something outside happening to you, in order for you to get that motivation to change.

I'd be surprised to find anyone who insisted you can't change.... everyone can.  It might take time... we might fall out of the change we'd like to see.... but that's why determination and purpose are so important.

If you're seeking change and having a hard time with it, try communicating with God. God is the author of all good things, and He can very certainly work what you may deem impossible.

Of course people can change, especially if you look at a users' early posts on a board, and then compare them to current posts or, if they were banned, posts on other communities which they still view, you can tell they've changed a lot.

Stop posting so often is another way to start changing for the good.

Try writing down a guide for what you want to turn into.  Figure out who you can talk to to help you get there.  Work for it.  It's not God or religion or anything else.  It's you understanding what you really want and figuring out how to get there, and executing.

Go execute!

In my opinion. No. You can make yourself think that you did. But I don't think anyone can willingly change. 
Changing means you would have to change what you believe in.. and live with those beliefs. And it's very rare for someone to change what they believe in. 

If you think you've changed, and know you believe in something else... then the thing you used to believe in previously will still linger around in your mind. You will still have thoughts about it, and not always negative ones.

People can change you just don't want to push them too far into changing into who you want them to be. Let them change to the new person and maybe you will like it? Maybe you wont? But if that said person is truly your friend then he will change when he knows that he is hurting you and making you feel like crap. If not well then maybe that person shouldn't be your friend or something. That isn't to say that you should just drop them on the spot people can change rather quickly at times and such,. But others are stubborn and don't wish to change for there friends and that's fine and all but if its really hurting you or your friend then it might be best to try and change a bit of yourself for that said person.

Just think of the best possible way to go about it, and commit to the plan. If you can't think of anything, ask for advice or do as much research as you can. If something doesn't seem to be working, change it up a little, but stay on course. Everyone is capable of change for the better, it's just a matter of working on it. And don't get discouraged if it doesn't come as quickly as you want it to, these things take time.
