I don't believe in censorship of any kind, whether it is video games, movies, or books. denying somebody of something just makes them want it more. I've posted this before and will do it again: IF YOU CANT PLAY A VIDEO GAME WITHOUT GETTING BAD IDEAS, THEN YOU HAVE PROBLEMS AND NEED TO BE LOCKED UP. if a person finds something they don't like, they should ignore it. We all have control over ourselves and what we do, for the most part. Act like responsible humans and the government shouldn't have to be all "Big Brother."

Honestly, everyone is trying to make this game worse than it really is. If people want to play the game, let them play it, they are probably gonna find a way to get it anyway. I mean, look at grand theft auto, mortal kombat and carmagedon if anyone can remember that game. All those games allowed and encourage the brutal killing of either your opponents or a mass number of people. Think about whats out there and what you play before you critisize.

While it can have an affect on children the parents shouldn't let them play such games. Parents responsibility to look at the rating and maybe test out the games themselves.

Zamiel : Exactly, the parents responsibility is to look at game ratings, videos and reviews and even go as far testing the game themselves after buying it.

Shadowtails13 : actually teens can play it legally if they have an adult buy it. also the console version is rated M not A as it has some censoring where the pc version had none (there are mods that can change that but we are talking about the actual game and not mods). I don't like censoring, it makes no sense a lot of times, there are some cases (like what DM said about child porn) that censoring is needed, but most cases it is not. All censoring is is people in power forcing their morals on people. I have been playing violent games since i was 4 (not manhunt just cus i havent yet but i have played games like doom,wolfenstein,mortal kombat,GTA,blood rayne 2,punisher,ect.) and i wouldn't repeat any of that crap, so it is obvious that when u have parents around to tech you that this is only a game it will not mess u up in the least. Also the idea that a game can turn someone into a serial killer just makes me laugh, that's the same EXCUSE that was used by people as to why colombine happened and why? all because one of them said "This shot gun is straight out of doom" and i don't think he even said it the day it happened, but some earlier day when it was being planned.

Its just a game why should a game be banned? No reason for it thats why they have ratings on games

iBOCK : Nothing personal dude but, that seems like a really shallow and generalized view of what happens. Not that I think think the game should be banned, I'm a huge fan of Manhunt. But by the same token, if that many parents are against it, their kids aren't going to be allowed to buy it anyways so... this market would be unprofitable.

However, being a legal adult capable of buying these games, yeah it sucks that it's banned because I don't see a point. And as far as the censoring comment, I think censorship is pointless because, like previously stated, you shouldn't push your own morals on any person. Additionally, I find that censorship is worthless because telling people that what is being censored is bad is going to cause everyone to go out trying to find what was so bad that it had to be censored.

I don't recall any censorship on the history channel's videos of WWII Internment camps or any human rights abusers they've discussed. Reality is important. I'm a fan of the spartan method. If you can't handle it, you'll die of your own course

The thing is though, as I understand it, this game wasnt really made "for kids" so I dont see how the point is really relevent.

I dont really understand why people make a big stink over games made for adults or even teens, claiming that their 8 year old is affected.
It's just warped thinking, that all video games must be for children.
Adults play games too...

DarkHyren : That's a strong point! But, let's face it... kids are just as eager to play games like this. That's why it's even an issue. It didn't become a problem because a bunch of 18+ men and women complained about the content of the game after they played it.

Of course, as we all know, video games weren't a problem until a very special Jack Thompson made that big stink.

Although it wasn't banned here, I don't think it should've been banned. I truthfully don't think any game should be "banned."
