Zelda 1 all the way I remember playing that game in the late 1989 I love that game when it was just a rental then i own Zelda 1 and 2 the second one is hard,music is awful and everybody would think that link is having sex with the townspeople whenever he's comes inside with them.The game don't have any Gems to collects so and yet your in town !But the first one you can buy stuff and there's no town anywhere what a joke.I'm not saying anything bad about the zelda one it's far better then the second zelda game .

To be honest comparing the two is very subjective to the person reviewing it what may seem like fun to one person may seem really boring for another. In my honest opinion it depends what mood I'm in to have a preference to each of the Zelda's. For example for me when I'm in a really bored and tired mood and really just don't want too much storyline or introduction or in a mood where i don't want to think a lot the simplistic controls of the first Zelda look so appealing. Opposing this of course when I feel a want a bit more of a challenge then raping a few of the same buttons all the time I'll play Zelda II. Zelda 1 for me has always been a casual game to go to anyway so I think I'd always prefer that one anyway but like I said I think mood is everything. Nice discussion you got going here.

I would never be able to answer this question. Zelda is just amazing every game ever put out. I have beaten them all. The first one I have played way more religiously than the 2nd. But it is still a really good game. But who agrees with me on this. Ocarina all the way! Best game known to man.

I'm not a fan of the changed view point in parts of Zelda II. I think Legend of Zelda games should always be either overworld or First person, such as Ocarina of Time or Skyward Sword.
