You find the gameshark cheats on google or whatever, then just add them in from the cheats menu. I can't remember the exact process, I haven't used VBA cheats in a long time, but its fairly simple.

Using the cheats menu is simple in VBA. Load which ever game you are wanting to play. Then click Cheats and under that menu select the "Cheat List..."

In the window that pops up, select which ever cheat device you are using (codebreaker or gameshark). Enter a description for the cheat and then the code in the box below that. Remember to keep each line separate:

xxxx-xxxx
xxxx-xxxx
xxxx-xxxx

Or however that particular device handles its cheats.

Now your cheats, as long as you have entered them correctly, should be working. You can also save and load the list for that game so you dont have to enter them over and over again. There is also a disable option that you can use to turn the cheats off while you are still playing.
