I recently played a game called Silent Hill: Shattered Memories on the Nintendo Wii.  My first reaction was that it was very scary.  I have never thought that I would actually be scared of playing a game.  Silent Hill is beyond scary.  For those who are not scared of horror games, do not bother commenting about this game.  I was so scared, I decided to send it back the next day and get a different game (Gamefly).  What was your reaction to the game? Could you ever play the game ever again?

I have this game on PSP, and honestly I didn't find this game so scary. Ok, it's not too bad, I would say the parts in the "maze of ice" with the creatures are oppressive, especially when we spin around like a record, trying to find the exit in order to make some progress. Well, the ambient is gloomy, it's Silent Hill after all but I found this one less scary than the first episodes or Silent Hill: Origins released on the same system. Perhaps I didn't have some headphones in order to enjoy more this game, I think I will retry with my headphones. Who knows? Probably Laian will be scared like a little boy ha ha XD

I've never played this particular Silent Hill, but I've played some of the other ones, and this series sure is creepy. I don't blame you for sending the game back.

I have Silent Hill 1, 2, and 3. I would play Shattered Memories if there was an option to defend yourself. Clocktower for the Super Famicom did the whole run away thing, but you could kick Scissor Man. Of course, I play the Silent Hill games more for the story. The horror just helps make the story feel easier to get into. I'm a huge fan of the Silent Hill games, obviously.

I can see how Shattered Memories could scare someone. I get creeped out sometimes by horror games, but it all depends on my mood or level of anxiety. I find Silent Hill 3 to be much more scary than the rest of the first three. If I ever let go of my distain for being forced to run away constantly in the game being mentioned, I would play Shattered Memories a few more times.

Now Legendary... That game is scary for the wrong reasons. It has so many cool ideas, yet decides it isn't worth being worth a broken clock. I was horrified by how average in a bad way that game was. If you got a shooter that has monsters from myths taking over the world or something and make a game so average, don't call it Legendary.

KlawedFlaw : You do not know how scary this game was.  It was on the Wii...WII.  The wii remote would make noises if there is an interference and if someone is calling, you press the button and put the wii remote on your ear to listen to what the caller is saying.  That is what freaks me out the most.
