When i was in 2th grade i had to memorize a speech, it was not big deal also in 4th grade i had to memorize all  time table, and  last 2 months i had to memorize 10 paragraphs about a symbolic character.

Well, in French we have to memorize our presentations ( because it's kind of awkward when the person looks up at the projector and reads it off there).
Then there's the oh so dreaded high school exams.
Of course, since I'm Drama I had to memorize my lines for our big play ( which I flubbed... go me)
Finally, there's our final band test, where we choose our own song, memorize the whole thing, and play it.
