I dislike the Release dates the most. Example: Command and conquer 3 came out about a year ago. Command and conquer 3's expansion pack came out recently, and (according to game informer) hasn't really changed anything from the original C&C3, and has many errors. Theres no answer to the poll that says "Yes I do think its unacceptable" Thats what I would say.
I would also say about the release dates... while sad its not like their taking a long time on purpose, they want to get the game out as soon as possible, not sit on it. Well you must understand one thing about the companies - Money. Thats all they really want. I mean sure, the original idea is from some guru pregnant with the news of an awesome game, but after editing, delaying, popularizing, and finally, releasing, it all ends up on the fact of money. They'll do anything to get it.

But to add to the conversation. This happens quite often, but usually it's not something for the worst. I mean, take into account that many of the games that are pushed back quarter, usually improves on initial designs, making it a more worthwhile game. Wouldn't you wait for a game you really love to be better?

I would love a game company to keep the release date to themselves. Release the game when you are finished, don't tell us a false day.

Whilst Neyros idea of having an answer for every mindset possible is a little out of hand I still have to agree that the original selection of choices is rather small.

Here's another example of a game's ridiculous fall-back:
Legend of Zelda, Wind Waker. Supposed to be released in late 2002-early 2003. Was pushed all the way to spring of 2004 to April. Ridiculous? Definitely. I was like... 10 1/2 then, and I was 12 when the dang game finally released.

But dont forget, its not the companys fault.
If the head people in the company go, when is this game due to be finished?? And they say 2002 . The head of the company go and tell people.
Mean while the programers are slaving day and night over this game, trying to implement everything as it was ment to be, aswell as find + remove bugs. Its not there fault there are so many bugs (might have been a breakdown in communication between programing teams and such).

Of course, but the head of the company should put a reasonable release date... Look at HalfLife2. Did you SEE what happened? like 2 months into development the guy was like, "It'll be out in 6 months by September!" 4 years into development, it was released.
Basically I think they should look before they leap into a brick wall called time.

They also add things they had not even thought of before, all to make the game so much better. I dont think they loose any credibility though...
Maybe I understand more about how things go wrong with programming, and I know things go wrong, because they have happend to me before.

I think that they shouldn't call release dates too soon.
I remember Square Enix pushed back both Kingdom Hearts II and Final Fantasy XII back quite a bit (one of the release dates for KH2 was on my birthday. It was on my list and everything. Then the release date gets pushed back... again). Wind Waker's push back was also rediculous. I loved the game, but I waited 2 years for it.
