I applied at a college and they gave me an Admissions Representative and at first I thought this guy was cool, but when I started telling him questions and information, he sounded like he was so impatient and just throwing so much things to sign.  For instance, I told him about having a college visit and he just said that I needed to do this first and I did and I asked again and he said to do this too and I did and I asked him one more time and he was like you are not 17 and you are applying to this college and I said that I put my start date in the fall and when that time comes, I will be 18 and he said well okay you now have to sign this stuff so that they can get a transcript and I said okay and I did, but I said that I will fax it to him in a few days and he tells me the times that I can do to go visit the college and I said that I would think about it with my parents and he said okay and asked if I have signed the stuff and that just irritated me cause he obviously did not read what I told him when I said a few days when he tells me the next day.  Is this guy being too serious, too impatient, or just does not care and just give me things that I need to sign so that I will be ready to go to the college visit?  I am beginning to care less about him because he is just making this very hard on me. What do you think about this situation.  Also, he uses a few exclamation points in some of his messages when he says yes or no.

Well, it's hard for me to fully understand what you're talking about, since I didn't have/need an Admissions Rep. for any school I applied to. But I have had issues with my academic advisers. From my experiences with them or anyone from the school that you try to talk to, they don't really seem too interested in your personal benefit. The advisers kind of just sit you down and say "you need this, this, and this." And if you ever try to suggest another class, or ask any questions: "NO. You will take this, this, and this." They seem to only get their info from the 'suggested' course outline and not care about your class history or what you want to take. I'm not even sure the guy knew who I was the last time I saw a new adviser I was assigned. I have had ONE adviser who seemed to care AND know what he was talking about, though. So Yes, he is most likely just trying to get you out of his hair and finish his business with you. Especially in emails, staff seem to only respond to what they choose to read. However, every once and a while you'll get someone who seems a little more into their job and doing well at it. Just bear through with this guy and hopefully you'll get a nicer person in any similar situation. Good luck.
