I've finished creating 30% of the game, and I figured since this is the 1/3 mark, might as well show you all my progress. The following file is a WinRAR file and is labeled "Project1". It is in a compact file format that will "extract", for some users who do not know what WinRAR is, that's what it is. The game's beta file will be at the bottom of this article.

The planet I have developed includes:
Tutorial Island
7 Quests
Intro To Mining
3 Cameos
14 maps ranging from small to very large
Pet system
ALL classes (without abilities unfortunately)
Genders
Switches that CHECK your gender and sometimes refer to you by your gender.

Game length: about 7 hours, depending on what you want to do.
TIP: This Beta is a part of a series of patches until the final release. You do NOT have to start over again once a new beta is released. Instead, cut and paste your save files into the new beta's save files folder, and it will work fine, with the new updates like the patch of an online game would have. Please note after fully INSTALLING the next patch you can delete the old one.
Game Size: 105.88 MB, and I apologize for the file size as the final release will exceed 900 MB.

Your job as a gamer: Please download this RTP from http://www.crankeye.com/
the RPG maker 2003 RTP is on their downloads page and is a small download. This will allow you to play the game.

Your next task: Please play the game through the entire first planet and then tell me of any bugs or glitches that occurred within your time playing. Every beta released will give you this task, and reporting bugs or glitches that happen while you're playing is very much appreciated.

Legal information:
This game has copyrighted music from various artists. DO NOT put these files on your computer by removing the music from the game. If you do so, I cannot help you if you get sued from the artist(s) because I warned you clearly ahead of time.

Copyrights are so yesterday, if you put anything on the internet imho its fair game. Honestly if I rip the music and put it on TPB... first of all it would only help your game if it was good, and did get downloaded. However the main point is it seems like an idle threat

Now that being said I don't want to take away from the point of this thread being your game, that which obviously no one has downloaded and commented. That is quite sad and I'm very tempted. The free space on my lappy is forever very few megabytes.

Wish I could play but apparently it isn't going to happen since I'm on a Mac. It won't open WinRAR files.

From the looks of the screenshots though they look GREAT!!!!

Once you complete it I'm sure Davido7 would let you upload it to the game section for people to play and review. I'll have to wait till then to play it as Win and Macs don't mix well with eachother

The game may get a 7/10 because even though I've been working really hard there's obviously going to be some credibility loss as.... It's an rm2k3 game... But it's more than likely a better one than average rm2k3 games.

Music does a lot to make an rpg. What kind of music are you using? Maybe a sample is in order... you know for an example I listen to some vid game music, my brother a lot, and there is a symphony that goes around playing videogame music exclusively. Like a lot of square rpg's but they do play music from other games.

I actually use a couple of bands from America for some cut-scenes. I use some music from the "Rogue Galaxy" soundtrack an another game's music I am using is Xenosaga III: Also Sprach Zarathustra. Along with Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3. As you can see even though MP3s are a little larger than a MIDI, I am trying my best to avoid MIDIs as they make the game feel.... Older.

Okay, I played it. Here are some thing I liked, and some things maybe you could improve on:

+ I liked the loading effect you added at the beginning. Maybe you could add loading graphics?
+ Loved the MMRPG feel of the game. If done properly, you could have a very enjoyable game.

- Maybe remove the tutorial at the beginning and add it to a Readme file or maybe add a house like in FF6.
- The maps are sort of bland. There's not a lot happening.
- The game might be too complicated for casual gamers (ie: people who don't have that much time to invest). This isn't really a con, but I figured I'd point it out.
- The text speed is too slow.
- I saw a sprite or two with the green/blue box around them. You should import them and set the background as transparent.

Overall, it was a fun play. The battle system was fun, and not overly complicated like some games. I'd definantly recommend it to gamers who enjoy MMORPGS or MMRPGS.

Thank you, Justin. Your comments and help are very much appreciated. Once I release the final beta, I all of your suggestions will show the awesome end result. The text speed is a little slow because I actually need players to read the text. The first planet will have double the content it had in this beta once I release beta 2.011.

This support from ya really helps. The tutorial will be a giant church in the first planet. You will be able to still enter your name, class, and gender at the beginning. A loading animation will be added. I will also edit the sprite problems . I figured I'd make the battle system less cluttered and to make it straightforward so people would enjoy it more. The only thing that will not be changed is the EXP curve, which is final.

This beta now has a hidden easter egg in the beginner island, can you find the "Ironed Shirt"? It's invisible, comb the map of the first town and you'll find it.

I'm on chapter 5 of my book got the plot so thick it's going to make the book a fatass of pages.

Spoiler for the beginning scene: The character Ibock3 dies in the second planet in the first cutscene of the game. You'll figure out why that's important when Beta2 is released ;D

Well, I have to tell you guys that my game will probably(PROBABLY) be out by Christmas. Sounds too long but I've seen what taking it slow has done to the quality of the game.

Was it really that good? Just wondering. Here's the thing: The 100 monsters may seem like a small amount but the thing is, this game is going to be HARD, as in harder than Dragon Quest 8 at level 2 hard. I ESTIMATE it MAY be around 60-150 hours long depending on if you want to get all the bonus content that will appear after the game's credits.

Yes, it was. I enjoyed playing it and will defiantly keep an eye out on it! And challenging games are always very fun!

I figured to make it very difficult so players try harder and don't just mindlessly keep pressing the space button. Battles will require strategic use of spells and skills if you're under leveled.
