lightknight: that is the main problem with the bible.... it isn't black and white... nothing is explicitly stated so that there is no error in interpretation.... thus the hundreds or sects and many interpretations of the bible....

thus why I don't personally believe the bible word for word... that's not to say I don't believe in it, but I just can't believe that it is 100% true and accurate

There is nothing better you can do for your children, than to NOT force your faith upon them. Having one Taoist and one Atheist parent I found this out a long time ago. When people begin to believe their books and scriptures infallable is where all the violence and war comes to pass.

I personally choose to stay out of religon, I dont see why anyone would create man as it is lol.

Well I don't know about forcing your children into a religion. But there is nothing wrong with bringing your children to church to get educated. Its like saying you don't want to bring them to school to get indoctrinated by the teachers. You shoudn't force education on your children either? Your supposed to bring up your children in the way their supposed to be.

And that correct way is merely a matter of opinion. I was never brought up religious because my dad was brought up Protestant, and my mom was brought up Catholic. Personally, I would rather be Catholic than Protestant. *shrugs*

Yeah, I was just using the bible to set the example for "the right way to bring up your kids" I don't really know very much about the Catholic denominations. Ummmm I guess I could say that I'm an evangelical? yeah but I think most religions have thier flaws. And I would like to think of myself as a openminded, loving person.
