American RPGs: Choose your own adventure style. (More original and different but can suffer slightly in the plot twists.)

J-RPGs: Linear story style. (More intriguing with more thought out plot and more plot twists but with over done stereotypes.)

This is of course only my feeling of how it turns out and there are of course games that differ from the stereotype.
