For Red, Blue && Yellow I'd like to use Diglet, because I know that when he evolves to Dugtrio he'll learn the move dig and that tends to get the opponents health down pretty fast and I get to dodge every other attack

I would go with what i have now: Onix, psyduck (want it evolved, or rather that star thing that Misty has), Grotle, Starvaia. In terms of FireRed/ LeafGreen, I would want the options to be Vulpix/Growlithe for fire (depending on the version), Bellsprout/Oddish for grass (again depending on the version) and finally Staryu/ Psyduck for water (bad choices I know).

Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald: Because there aren't that many fire type options, I guess I'd want to start with numel (terrible starter) for fire, seedot/ lotad for grass, and finally carvanha/ barboach for water.
