I started out watching with Christopher (the ninth doctor) and watched through David Tennant. Then I watched Matt Smith. Back then Matt Smith has just entered, so it was pretty cool. After having watched all the ones up to date I watched a few of the older ones, but I seem to like the newer ones by far.
I have seen recorded videos of the actual Doctor Who music shows in which an orchestra played all of the major songs. I really wish that I could actually go and watch one of those shows, but the tickets are like 2000$ each, I believe, so that's not going to happen. I do love to listen to the songs "I am the Doctor" and "This is Galifrey", they both are the best to listen to especially in just the piano version (type the name in and look for the results that come up from 'UKpiano' on youtube.
My personal favorite doctor is the 10th one, but Matt Smith is definitely hilarious. I have not been watching the show since quite a while, so my memory fails on the last one that I watched. It is definitely the most recent one that had come out by Christmas. After that, I have not kept up to date on whether Doctor was coming out with shows. If they have, then I do have a lot of make up watching to do

This is definitely one of my favorite shows ever. I have seen all of the newer seasons and I do think that David Tennant is my favorite doctor. Matt Smith can hold his own, but I think Tennant was born to play the Doctor. And as for the best companion, I have to vote Donna Noble. She is definitely the funniest of all the companions (Rory comes second) and the way she messes with the Doctor is great. My next tattoo is actually going to be a big Doctor Who dedication.

Oh Doctor Who. I just love the show but I'm a bit iffy about Moffat's script writing over Russell T. Davies. Personally I always thought of Doctor Who as being a bit family orientated but his style makes it a bit, I dunno, complicated or convoluted for children? It was a shame Christopher Eccleston only did one series, I believe he left due to bullying, because I wish they'd expanded a bit more on his angsting heart broken character who just needed someone, anyone, to fill the void left by the loss of all his people and him being the cause of it. David Tennant was a fabulous passionate Doctor and I just loved the zany exuberance he brought in whilst also showing that he had that dark void of tempered rage known as the Oncoming Storm, how he just snapped in Waters of Mars and warped time after nearly losing another good person.

I've watched snippets of Moffat's episodes and I'm sure some of you might say I need to give him more of a chance I just can't get into the episodes like I used to. Maybe I'm just being one of those cynical nostalgic fans because lets face it, Tennant set the performance bar quite high and he had quite a long run. He'll always be 'My Doctor' if you get what I mean.

I agree with you on every level. Ironically, the person that introduced me to the show never paid any attention to the writer in the opening credits, but I always thought the best episodes were written by Davies. It just so happened to be that my second favorite writer was Steven Moffat, but the most meaningful and dramatic episodes that moved the show along were always written by Davies. After the 5th season I noticed he was no longer doing season premieres and finales and that's when I found out he left the show with Tennant.

I think Tennant was THE doctor, but I also agree you should give Smith's doctor another chance. It's still a fantastic show. Granted the Doctor is supposed to have a slight personality change with each regeneration, but it was a shame (for me) to have so many seasons/series of a more variable Tennant to go right into Smith. He just doesn't seem to care as much sometimes, in my opinion. It was nice to see him have a family with Amy and Rory, though. Can't wait for the next Christmas special!

My first serial was Tomb of the Cybermen starring Patrick Troughton. I'd have to say my favorite Doctor is probably Tom Baker, but Troughton and David Tennant come pretty close.

My friends just recently finally convinced me to watch, and I'm in love. Sadly I don't get BBCA, so I have to watch it online and my internet sucks, but oh well. This actually makes it easier to catch up anyways . I watched some of Eccleston's run but went ahead and skipped to David Tennant because I didn't really feel 9 was a great fit for the Doctor (no offense to his fans). Also, check out my Halloween costume! (bad lighting I know . Also, sadly, no converses . Working on that part for next time)

This show is completely awesome. I've been watching it for about 2 months, and I'm kinda obsessed with it, I've been catching up on the new series, but I'll watch the original 26 soon enough.

I really enjoyed Eccleston, but Tennant is more interesting at the moment. Too bad Eccleston's run didn't last that long.
