Sunset Riders is a very fun western side scrolling shooter haven't heard of to many of those game genres. I find this game very fun and addicting shooting, games like this and Contra have a certain appeal to me. The controls are fairly basic you jump, shoot and also collect power ups. The graphics are really good game play runs fairly smoothly without any lag or problems I has good music and the voices sound right and are understandable for the Snes. Like I said this game is addictive from what I know this game is original haven't seen many western side shooters so I guess it's original. There isn't really a story what so ever you just go on shooting and killing.There isn't any cut scenes besides the boss scenes but it doesn't explain what you're goal is or what you're fighting for its basic but if you look past it ,which is easy to do, it is still a very fun experience. The bosses are challenging so they can take up time along with some difficult levels if you are good at these types of games it should be easy to play through it. This game is special to me I had a blast playing it these types of games are good in my opinion but I guess that's my opinion I think my ratings were fair and justified and once you play this game you have a little more respect for the Snes. I suggest you play this on the Snes rather than the genesis. The reason I say this is because the version on the genesis has lesser quality from what I know. I try not to put the genesis down because I do like the genesis and the games on it but in this case the Snes wins. This is my first video game review in the game room so if you guys have any pointers for me just tell me and I will try to fix any problems with my future reviews. Thanks for reading this review

This game is a lot like contra because you can get upgrades like double gun and rapid automatic fire,just like in contra

Oh yeah, this is one of my favourite snes-game ever.
You're right D_Man, there isn't any story in this one or anyone in the game explaining, why you're shooting all the bad guys, but who cares? I always was fascinated by the unique style the game has. And of course by the short sentences they say, before they die, haha!

Let me finish this one with a sentence I learned from this game. A sentence of pure wisdom:

"Bury me with my money."

Well, you can say that the story is that you are a cowboy who takes bounties on the dangerous criminals. You do see the reward posters for your target and have to fight through his gang to reach him. But that is about all you can gather. I loved this. A friend brought it over when I was a kid, and it took me years to find it on a cartridge again.
