Pikachu Dig Dug is a hacked game of Dig Dug on the NES.  This is probably better because it is Pokémon-related and the actual game of it is pretty fun.  When I first tried this game out, I thought you just dig everywhere to beat the level, but then I realize that you can shoot the enemies, and then I realize you are suppose to defeat the enemies to continue on. How stupid was I to not think about hitting the other button. Anyways, the overall of this game was not too bad, it was most games like Pacman and others related to it.

Graphics - 9

The graphics are pretty good.  The enemies and Pikachu don't look too bad for a NES graphic-like.  The levels however look the same from the original game.  What's cool is that you can see Voltorbs blow up when pumping it with lightning.

Sound - 8

The sound is good.  It is just playing a song in the background, but to hear it, you have to keep moving.  If you stop, the music will stop, so it is basically a song that will play whenever you move.  Kind of weird, but okay.  The sound effects are not Pokémon-like sounds, it is just some bleeps and bloops like any other NES game.

Addictiveness - 7

The game is not that bad to play, I would play it some of the time because of the game play it is.  It is related to Pacman and Donkey Kong on the NES (not exact, but same arcade type).

Story - N/A

There is no story in this game, you just kill the enemies to proceed to the next level and try not to get yourself killed.

Depth - 7

There is not much to do in this game, you just try to get a good high score and see if your friends can beat it. It is like Pacman, where it is the same level, but gets even harder.

Difficulty - 4

The game is not that hard to play.  The only thing that is hard is that the enemies can disappear and cheat to appear closer to you.  That is kind of the only thing that I thought was hard in the game.  The rest of the game is quite simple.  Just watch out for those rocks that can tumble down on you if you dig under it.

Wrap Things Up...

Pokémon Dig Dug is great to try out if you liked playing the original Dig Dug game.  I recommend trying this game out, it is that good of a game and Pokémon fans can try this game out too.  Just remember that this is a hacked game so don't think you can go and buy it for your own NES console lol.

I liked playing the original Dig Dug for the arcade (even though I was terrible at it). Having a Pokemon twist will probably make me enjoy it even more.

Wow I remember this game. I too saw it on an arcade cabinet but was really young so I sucked at it. I agree, seeing a character sprite for Pikachu does actually make it more enjoyable.
