It will be the first presidential election that I can actually vote in so you better believe that I am gonna vote! 

I'm voting for Obama. I really get ticked off when people knock Obama and they don't give a real explanation as to what he's done wrong. What has he done wrong? It's not his fault that the economy is in the pooper. He's limited the damage with the stimulus a few years ago, he got Osama, Gaddafi, he's gonna get our troops out of Iraq (FINALLY), he's a smart man which is such a pleasant thing to see for once in office and I can't believe it's being taken for granted. As president, Obama is the symbol for America. I like this man representing our country. 

Now, if a candidate like Perry, Cain, or Bachmann gets in office I will literally [poop] my pants and move out. I can't imagine Romney getting in. Many people are not a huge fan of someone who they believe flip-flops on issues too often, being "not conservative enough," and it's very rare that a non-Christian enters office. 

For the love of all that is good and sacred [lol I originally typed out 'scared'], please don't let Bachmann anywhere near the presidency. All of the progress to right the wrongs of the Bush administration would be erased within the first few months.

I'll be old enough to vote in the general elections but not old enough to vote in the primaries. I definitely don't think it will be Obama again, he is slipping bad. I generally don't think we'll be seeing a democrat this time around. I would have said Romney before the race but now the conservative base does not trust him. I personally think it would be more likely Herman Cain or Newt Gingrich. They have both very likeable personalities. Plus they're both very intelligent and high in popularity, as well as have the conservative base that need to win anything .

That's right, Rick Santorum has dropped out of the race. That leaves Romney to fight off Gingrich and Paul until the nomination, though it is almost certain that Romney is going to get it now.

Honestly, I breathed a massive sigh of relief when I read this story. Out of all the potential GOP candidates, Santorum was the scariest, both because of his policies on women and on education (as in wanting to end all government funding for it).

Elara : God, I am glad he dropped out. I am not a Republican, but I have been monitoring the Republican elections. I was dreading Santorum. I seriously believe him to be more of a (edit) than Rush Limbaugh. The difference is, Rush isn't a politician who has to filter his hateful comments. But if Santorum wasn't a politician, holy crap. I'm just happy the one person I was dreading being the possible candidate for the Republican Party is out. I bet Anne Coulter is pissed

I am so sick of Democrats and Republicans. I wish there was more recognition for other parties, but sadly whoever has the money has the power and both the Democrat and Republican parties have way more money than the other ones do. I am going to be able to vote this year for the first time and I believe I will vote for Obama because although he is doing way less than us liberals expected of him and is almost seeming to be more of a Conservative than a Liberal, I believe he is the lesser of two evils. I am sorry but I think all the Republicans running for office this year are major idiots. (Thank goodness Santorum pulled out) But of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Let's see how things turn out.

Well, seeing as the main question is who do I think will win in the end... My answer would have to be the current Pres. Obama. I don't think that Romney would be that bad, I just see him as too far above the regular public to actually know what is good for those who are in the middle to lower end of the economic system in America.

It's only a matter of time till the media discovers Rick has been cheating on his wife with porn by using his campaign money for it Most the people who have tried to get office this year have been cheating on their wives. With all the scandals going on and Romney not caring for poor Obama will likely win again. Plus, Romney just looks way to corporate I think people would more likely trust Obama then him just based on his looks.

Current polls agree with you, JigSaw... most people trust Obama more than they do Romney.

xytha : I am hoping that next term he will do better to meet the expectations. And yeah, the candidates this election cycle have been pathetically comical... it's like the Republicans aren't taking it seriously.

Elara : I totally agree with you also.Let's hope he can lower the gas prices to the 1.00 mark.Even thought gas in illinois is the same as Iowa except chicago with $1.00 expensive.

Rommney

Somehow I don't think we will ever see $1/gallon gas prices again... inflation alone has made that impossible. Now, if we as a nation switched over to natural gas, then I think prices even lower than $1 would be possible. That kind of notion would of course depend on places like Malibu pulling their heads out of their behinds and letting the extraction and processing plant be built off their coastline.

I would be nice to go back below $3/gallon though.

Well, now that Santorum is out of the race. Now I will put the gop nominee almost on Romney.  Unless Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich combine and finally get that united conservative vote that pundits thought would defeat Romney if a candidate got it, which seems unlikely. Than I anticipate Romney. I don't really believe Romney was as strong as Newt Gingrich and Rick Perry in taking on Obama. But, now that it is nearly decided, he has my vote in the general election just to defeat Obama. For how Moderate he is it will take a lot for me to believe in him again as a conservative. I really wish we had someone like Rick Santorum or Rick Perry as President. Shoot I wish Ronald Reagan was still around to be president.

Honestly I am not happy with any of the possible candidates right now, including the president. I'm sick of the way the party system currently functions, and sick of the agendas they always follow. I just want a president that understands the plight of middle/low class america, and wants to try to actually do something about it. I fear that will never happen though...

FYI there is no way the gas prices will ever go down to 1.00$ again unless the US finds a miracle and can produce most of the gas that the US consumes. Don't feel so bad, people in Europe have been paying well over the 4$+ we are paying for years.

Elara : natural gas is not really the solution, the switch over costs, lower weight enerdgy yields, corrosive nature etc all limit its potential, plus that would eventualy deplete unless we produced it, which would raise its price

Rommney's ideas has definitely been pretty promising. Even if he's kicked out of the running by others, I wouldn't vote for Obama, even if I could. He's done pretty much NOTHING in his term. Its time to start out fresh.

thenumberone : Oh, I know it's no solution. Personally, I would prefer electric or hydrogen fuel cell cars... but as it stands right now, natural gas has the best chance of succeeding in the US.

OBAMA. Did you even need to ask me? The reason that I choose this black president is because he's done so much for our nation already. The other guy seems a bit weird and doesn't have a good grasp of reality in my opinion. This might be a landslide win.
