Everyone loves
lose little beetle buggy's! Now you get to drive a various amount of beetles in "Beetle Adventure Racing"!
It's a great racing game for the Nintendo 64 compared to others. You start out with two tracks and one beetle, each track is exciting with jumps, shortcuts, and even... Dinosaurs!
Most racing games need to have good graphics to play, this one you could be racing boxes and yet it would still be a great game. There are so many different types of beetles, yes there is! how could you imagine? beetles look the same! well... In Beetle adventure racing, there are
cop beetles, chrome beetles, racing beetles, and flower beetles. How could you think of so many?
The game play is simple, gas is A, brake is B.There is quite a bit of action for a racing game on the Nintendo 64, Jumps are surprisingly intense. And shortcuts are around every corner and each has something cool and unique in it.
As you progress, you unlock more cars and tracks. That's not it though. Yeah, every racing game is Multi-Player, same old
same old. But Beetle Adventure Racing has a scavenger hunt. But what could you be hunting? Beetles, of course! With a bunch of power ups and unique arenas, Beetle Adventure Racing, is a great family game. Never mind a party game. It isn't great for friends, Maybe your sibling?
The tracks range from Tropical Islands, toBlizzards. They never get old. The CPU can be challenging for advance gamers, or easy, for new players. As you progress on any difficulty, the CPU gets more challenging, but is still an enjoyable game.
I have found no flaws to the game, it runs smooth on an original Nintendo 64, but isn’t so great on Vizzed.com or any emulators. I have noticed bad graphics, slow frame rate, and black bars on the screen making it unplayable. Yet on the original game there is a glitch that ran into myself, but doesn’t effect gameplay.
The shortcuts are exciting, you can crash in to a movie theater screen, going through it and coming back out on the track, o rjump over a ship full of crates, the shortcuts seem endless and in a normal review no one would talk about shortcuts. But on Beetle Adventure Racing, it’s like another game itself.
The graphics for the cars are great, the landscape although is flat, trees, fences, hot air balloons, even things right in your face that should be third dimension, all 2D. The cars like I said, are great, but don’t play off for the flat graphics. Although this game would still
kick but even with graphics that would make me vomit.
Overall, a great racing game for your family, or for yourself. It has great CPU competitions, decent graphics, nice Multi-Player mini game, action and adventure, cute ‘lil beetle cars, dinosaurs, volcanoes, and haunted forests. All jam packed in one racing game. AMAZING! On
my checklist for freakin’ awesome games!
