So you dont think its right to remove evil people from power before they do severe damage do our countrys?
The only reason america hasnt invaded korea yet (the bad half) is because America knows if they do sttack, they may win, but they'd take VERY heave losses. But they have agreed to alot of these protocols and stuff.

In the end, yes, people died, but we did remove him from power before we could be attacked and suffer large losses.

To benny: I hope he comes back soon

To bigbob: That depends, was Saddam that big of a threat to the United States? Attacking Iraq wasn't well justified on the grounds of the U.S. being in danger. Even if they did have WMD the chances of getting any attack so many thousands of miles away wasn't technologically possible for Saddam. And taking him away gave Iran it's current chances to dominate the region and develop nuclear weapons.
As for North Korea, they aren't much of a threat. From what we know, their nukes are duds

It wouldnt have to be a direct attack on american soil, maybe a popular american holiday place (such that bali was to Australians).
Because Saddam was a threat of 5, dosnt mean we shouldnt have moved in, he might have progressed to a 8 (on my imaginary scale of 1-10) and then it may have been to risky to attack.

I wouldnt underestimate the N.Koreans. And I never heard anything about there nukes being duds, only them have doing a successful test.

Well, there WERE traces of radiation, but those being somewhat weak could say that their 2 or 3 bombs are failures. And attacking holiday spots? That would be a threat to the people who LIVE there rather than vacation there. Plus, Iraq had its hands full with Iran; if Saddam were in power now, both countries wouldn't have time to bother with us.

No, becuase the people who live there, dont goto the 'western' parts to relax and do whatever they do. Prime example, 2002 bali bombings. 88 Australians died, but only 38 Indonesians? It was a target against Australia, by simply targeting a popular Australian holiday area.

The 2005 bali bombings was a flop, it was targeted as westerners but only half the bombs went off.

I think it should have been: remove Saddam and his family and followers from power and leave Iraq, but if only it were that simple... now Bush thinks that we need to install a government for them, too.

When we dropped the bombs on Japan, the country was devastated, but to my understanding, accepted the help the US offered. The military was in Japan for seven years until it was stable.

Iraq does not seem to want our help, but they've already become so reliant on the US aid, that it's pretty likely that their economy would fail even more than it has already, they would probably fall into anarchy. However, there's no way to tell whether or not that will happen no matter how long we stay. Eventually, Iraq would eventually fall into the hands of someone like Saddam Hussein or be assimilated by another middle-eastern country such as Iran. It's a no=win situation for everybody...

I think it would have been wiser to focus on the more major threats to the US such as N. Korea and Iran. It'll be all the fault of the Iraq situation if an ICBM comes crashing down on NYC, Chicago, LA, San Francisco, or the DISTRICT OF COLOMBIA...

I think that about rebuilding the US, I'll paraphrase a quote from my favorite TV show--

"We need to evacuate the [country], then we need to burn the [country] to the ground. Then we burn the ashes and throw them into the Ocean. Then we build again from scratch."

Okay, in all seriousness, we probably need to abolish the electoral college and professional politicians, give only congress the right to declare war, and while we're at it we can revamp the tv ratings system and abolish all outdated laws.

I thought the war stoped basicly the same time america droped bombs on them. (Which is something alot of people dispise america for.. why are we not alowed to have nukes, yet you are the only people that have ever used them?? *not my opinion*)

Out of fear of a rebelian or something.. japan signed a treaty, and they will never send militry into combat. Thats why there are alot of japanese engineers and stuff that go to wars.

Give congress more rights.. from what I've heard there as corupt as a *insert something corupt here*. But that might only be to do with the worlds oil shortages.

Yeah, it sucks that Ben's dad's going but I know he's gonna kick some ass and take a lot of names

Plus I'll be hangin with Ben a lot during the summer 'cause it's fun to hang @ his house. That place is like gamer's paradise lol.

Hey Ben, what if we get a DVD to watch on Monday? My parents kinda need to fix the car still.

Anyway, "Daddy, what's a rack?"
"It's a country, son." (insider joke, kinda)

I apologize, but what some of you are saying is atrocious.

SkyStormKuja... Iraq is not a lot worse now. Are you kidding me? People are no longer bombed and slaughtered by their own government. In fact people are becoming more and more safe from the insurgent groups because of the increasing security. More and more citizens are coming forward with the locations of weapon caches.

There is NO WAY. That Iraq is set back decades in development, because... get this... we are developing their country. We have been building the infrastructure, the hospitals, parks, and schools. And the exact opposite, the longer it lasts the better it will get. Take a snap shot from the initial invasion, year by year, up til now. Its a remarkable change.

And Bigbob, i hope you don't think that being so scared that if you say the wrong thing and somebody hears you and you will never be seen again is keeping the peace.

And goldenryu how do you know that Iraqis don't want our help? Are you talking about Iraqis or terrorists. There is a difference.

The congress needs to be fired. They don't do a damned thing. This great congress that we elected in the last cycle vowed to do oh so many great things if they gained majority. And they didn't do squat.

And thats cool that your dad doesn't have to go. My dad went and that was tough on the family, my mom especially. But when i go over me and my dad will be gone at the same time. My mom will prolly lose her mind.

It's been red-flagged, so he can't go while on it.

Saying the wrong thing in many places can get you killed, not just in iraq. Just look at zimbabweh.. (mind the spelling).

Its not like America are going to kill people for protesting against them being in there.
