Starcraft. Aaah...what a great game... Now if SC2 would just become released...

Well back in 8th grade... 7 years ago I had a bunch of demo discs that were probably even older. My dad brought home is laptop from work and I installed a couple demos on there. One of the demo's was Lords of Magic. It was actually a pretty decent game. It mixed turnbased resource gathering and overland movement (ala heroes of might and magic) with real time battles.

Then... maybe a year or two later I saw it in a store and picked it up for 10$.

i have other games like NWK:2 and stuff... but come'on... sif ima play them single player let alone multiplayer :

Hey Zylo, wanna try and set up a LOM game? I have to dig out my old CD and figure out how to play though.

Hamachi is very reliable. There is only a 5% chance that you will ever have to relay your data, meaning it goes somewhere else before goign where you want it to go (hence taking a little longer) and ive only ever had that happen once in 2 years. It doesnt drop out (well hasnt for me) and annouce WAY ahead of time when a server will be shut and how long for., Usually they keep to that timeframe, but also servers being restarted are rare too.

Blast, I think I lost my old LOM CD. Hey Zylo, Lords of Magic is pretty old. Think you can just send me the installation files from the CD? It shouldn't have too much protection... If not, I'll see if I can get it from a nearby store if they still sell it. Funny thing is, I found the case but not the CD. Blast.

Back on topic, is there a guide to show you how to set up Hamachi? I don't feel like "finding out as I try it".

Dont need a guide. Install it. and Set up a netowrk witht he Network name and password (when requested) its an idiots network. Easy to set it up.

Ive changed the Name of the Hamachi network as it was discovered i dont even know the password to the Vizzed netowork.. i just connect to it..

So the network name i usually use is:

Alright if we are going to do something with Hamachi choosing a particular game might be hard. Or we could find a game we haven't played before and set that up.

The Reliability of Hamachi depends on your router+firewall+xp. Some of the older games deliver messages through an outmoded fashion that is used for denial of service attacks. So lets say if we're playing Starcraft the host will be able to talk to everyone but no one would be able to see what each other said to the host.

Anyways my vote would be we play Warcraft III or Dota and we can start a torrent and cd the war III discs for people who don't have it or just have vizzed host them. That is only considering if people actually want to play. Some of the users of the forum certainly wouldn't be interested as it isn't Pretendo (vash)

Anyways I don't know if we want to set up a particular night to play weekly or... I know on any given night I might be able to get 5 friends on dota/hamachi or starcraft/hamachi.

As for Lords of Magic I could set up a torrent. Assuming you use those? If you don't just google utorrent and download that. I won't set it up now I need to do some homework and get some computer issues worked out first.

Turtorial... follow link and download the file. Install program. Go to add network, put in whatever Icewave said to put in... and your on. If you still have trouble add someones msn like Codycos at msn.com

So how many people here would be interested in a little halo 3?

Ill assume you can get to as far as Downloading and Installing it on your own. Basically its all as Zylo said. Simple as pie cutting... with a laser guided super laser pie cutter...

1) Ok once installed get THIS main window up and Click the MIDDLE icon down the bottom .
Click, Join an existing network.

2) Input "InsaneParadox.com" in the Network Name field.
PM me for the password and enter that into the Password field.

Hit Join Netowork.

It will connect on its own. Simple eh?

I'm totally up for W3(Frozen Throne). Do you guys have the Frozen Throne?
Anyways, I also have 2 discs of Warcraft. They are normal storage discs, and Warcraft is on them as a normal file. So I could easily upload it as a torrent for everyone who wants W3 and the Frozen Throne. Also, no installation needed. Just extract to anywhere, and double click the shortcut respective to your game, whether it's Frozen Throne or not. So tell me if you want this, guys.

EDIT: I forgot one thing. With this type of Wacraft, Battlenet will not work. Ever. I don't know why, i just have the discs that my friend gave me as is.

I tried to play my friend's private maple server on Hamachi called "GGless" but it doesn't work. At all.

Does maple support LAN games?

It does, I'm the only one experiencing problems x(

Might add Maple Story to the LAN then... isnt a free download game? Ill check it out and let ya k now when i get it.
