From what I played I was able to catch Squirtle, Charmander, and Bulbabsaur early in the game. Squirtle located west of Viridian city, Charmander located south of Pewter city but after Viridian Forest, and Bulbasaur located east of Pewter but before Cerulean Cave. This balances out the team because you will have electric, water, fire, and plant types earlier in the game. Less level grinding before the earlier gyms since you will be able to find a weakness to their Pokémon. I highly recommend playing if you are a big fan of the Yellow version of the game!
