Elara : Yeah, actually there are many significant differences between the original texts and the translated ones, I've noticed that too, even from ancient Greek to modern Greek. So I prefer to have the original text in order to see the real point of the original writer.
Latin, the ancient Romans language, I took a lesson about it too in high school, but I wasn't so good at it, mostly because I didn't work hard But they are an interesting ancient language
As for Linear B, I've never had a course, but the way it looks is fascinating, in my opinion.
