My friend is in a long distance relationship and his girlfriend is in a rough spot with her family (arguing, etc.). She's overage so they could easily kick her out if they wanted (she could also just leave). Her relationship with her family has left my friend seriously concerned. There was a fight earlier tonight and he was very scared up until he got a text saying it calmed down. I won't say much more than that.

Again, this is my best friend so I'm treating this as if it's my problem too. We're basically sitting at home with half a dozen states between us and her. We're kind of stuck on how we can help her. Any ideas?


P.S. If I decide not to talk about this anymore, I'll just delete everything in my post.

well, to be honest it doesn't sound like there is a whole lot that you can actually do from where you are.

Are either of you in a position to offer her a place to stay right now? I know you're 21 (according to your profile) so it's possible that you or your friend live on your own and might have a couch she can crash on. It's just a matter of getting her out to where you are.

Other than that what can you do? Without more info on what's going on that seems like your only alternative is to get her away from the situation.

Honestly, I know what kind of patch she's going through, because I've been there, only in a younger version. 

Since you guys are older and are adults, I would suggest trying to find a place to crash AWAY from the family. Everyone needs a break from their family, eventually. Since you guys are basically far apart away from each other, I'd think about either visiting (if possible), or try to keep in contact as much as possible. 

Like geeo said, you can't even see her in person, what else can you do, unless you decide you can.

My friend is also 21 (almost 22). Right now our last resort plan is to have her move up here. That could get complicated so we're saving it until it gets too ugly for her to live there (hopefully won't happen).

The details I left out are just issues with her personal life and extra info regarding the fights she has gotten in with her family. It doesn't affect what we do (unless it gets really bad). I wouldn't mention any of it without getting the okay from my friend first.

We already stay in contact as much as we can. He calls her every single night and I'm around 24/7 as long as I have my phone on me. There was a plan to visit her established months ago, but it's looking like it might have to be moved up based on these incidents. The last week has been the worst by far.
