I have a Slowpoke on my Pokemon Red version and it's level 17. I need to get it to level up very fast, preferably level 40+ for the E4, but I need help on where to train him. Could someone please tell me somewhere to train it, I would really appreciate it.

I would say to just go to the routes that have similarly leveled PokÃ©mon. The problem with R/B/Y was that if it gets multiple level ups it once, they may skip learning moves. In other words, if Slowpoke would learn a move at level 18 and you train it somewhere where it gets enough experience to reach level 19 it will never get a chance to learn that move. Once it's around Level 30 or so, you should be able to train it easily in Victory Road. Most PokÃ©mon there are weak against either Psychic or Water and Slowpoke is both.

I would say the best place to train him would be a cave with lots of rock type pokemon around the same level as slowpoke
That way chances are you will have the type advantage
Thus giving you an easy training ground.
