What did you think about the Royal wedding of Prince Williams and Kate Middleton.

I liked it, thought the BBC did a great Job with the coverage and so did everyone else involved with the wedding that made sure everything went perfect. it wasn't boring either most people had an idea it would be dull but the wedding itself wasn't dragged out, the timing of everything was pretty much perfect, Kate looked Amazing as well that goes without saying though.

Well i actully only stayed up to see the dress it was amazing i thought it was soo pretty.
Then after i saw the dress i passed out. :3

An over-sensationalized waste of time and taxpayer money. That was my overall impression. Last time I checked 'royalty' serves no function besides gobbling money and waving at the public.

I can't believe people were actually mad at other couples getting married on the same day, as if Prince William and Kate had "reserved" or "bought" the day for their ceremony just because they were celebrities. Absolutely ridiculous.

(Cynical, I know.)

Annette : the first person other than myself i have seen say that, and amen.but no worrys,im sure the people who have had all there much needed benefits cut were happy sitting in the cold knowing hundreds of thousands of pounds was being spent on jet fuel for aircraft fly overs alone to make rich people happy without them needing to use there own money.

What's so important about it? I mean, sure, people over in England might care. But why do other countries have to get involved? I mean seriously, almost all news stations in the US (with the exception of NBC, as they decided to carry the REAL news on their national feed), decided to carry the news about the wedding instead of, oh, you know, the disasters in the south. Really? Innocent people are dying in one of the worst natural disasters that area has ever seen, and some rich douche and a girl getting married is more important then that?

People are stupid.

the_casualty : It's not just England you know, Britain does involve Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland as well who actually care about the monarchy, and the wedding is watched by an estimated 2 Billion people so clearly other people in different country's want to watch it and be involved hence the coverage in your country and i think you should blame the News coverage for the fact they aren't showing what's happening else where regarding people dying, And yes he is Rich so what? he actually works and earns his money so good for him, Just because people want to see a once in a lifetime ( Or very few times in a lifetime ) event how does it make them stupid?..

And regarding the tax payers money post, The Royals make their fair share of money for this country from tourism.. they are a massive source of income for the country and people are to quick to forget this.

AndyGer : I just think people are making too much of a deal about it. There are much more important things to worry about in this world.

Also, the wedding must have cost a fortune to put together, which is pathetic because the world is getting close to a second Great Depression. Programs are being cut to people who are barely making it by where as the monarchy is sitting upon a money throne on top of a pile of money in a building made of money.

the_casualty : But it is a big deal... it's a massive tradition that has been going for centuries in this country, and their are always going to be things to worry about in the world, that will never change.. their will always be conflict and their will always be disasters.. has been since the beginning of time so it ain't going to end now, A royal wedding is only once every few years, people deserve to be happy for one day, I know it made me feel proud to be British watching it.

And i am sure the monarchy has made their fair share of money for this country in the past so even if it did cost a lot of money i couldn't really care less, they deserve their big day. and i think your going a bit over the top with the world is near a second great Depression

AndyGer : people who work from morning till noon everyday bearly breaking even deserve the big day more,wont happen for them though because the government only cares about the elites.

thenumberone : But they aren't Royalty, they aren't in anyway related to Royalty. The Monarchy is what makes Britain British, and imagine a lower class working person having their big day on Live TV, all new record low figures.. Like you said they are Elites and everyone looks up to Elites.

Americans are more prouder to be American then we are to be British, they actually know how to celebrate events and it's about time we should be doing the same instead of moaning about little pointless things like Tax money.. you aren't going to die by paying more tax money.. things change prices go up and down. it's just the way the world works... their will always be Pro's to Equal the cons and Vice versa, I may have never met William but iv'e seen enough of him and read enough about William and Kate to make my own judgement on them and yes i do believe they are decent people i have no reason at all to believe otherwise, and most people from this forum aren't even from Britain so i don't really expect them to care about it to be honest.. why should they? but 25 Million people in the UK alone watched it which is a good chunk of our population.. you can't really judge how well liked they are of an internet forum, it's all opinion at the end of the day.

AndyGer : thats under half of britain.not a majority.well most of scotland dosent think tax is pointless,same for a large chunk of england.you take for granted how the new economic plan of this country has ruined so many peoples lives.the royals mean nothing to the north,we shouldnt have to pay money for them,i believe in democracy.no one is better,no one gets preferential treatment.

Okay your entitles to believe in democracy but i don't think this nation could live under a democratic state.

i watched it on demand and heard it on bbc radio they say it's romantic how they kissed twice instead of once on the balcony

AndyGer : i dont see how we couldnt live under a democratic state.the numbers of people watching dosent mean that they support them or us paying for it,and many are blisfully unaware that they did pay for it.its just another case of scotland having no say in our affairs,if you want grand partys like in america you may not have to wait long,among with other things this wedding has further pushed the snp's chances up.following that wedding snp's expected election results went up two points.scotland never wanted this and we certainly dont believe in elitism.evidently you do and i can see you wont sway either so i dont suppose theres much more to say.i only hope that if we do have an independence referendum the abolishion of the monarchy is one of the results,as well as the formation of a socialist nation given that britain has swung back to the right.bnp,ukip,conservatives,theyv all got an agenda.

I think it was pretty cool, that people got to experience a ROYAL wedding, but when I got up at 2AM to watch the
live footage, I went right back to sleep because it was really boring.
