Baconator : It really depends on how deep you want to take the whole thing. It has been many years since I've played and I don't even know what's out there any more. Wherever you live, try to find a hobby store that has models. Those places will be able to direct you to any bookstores or specialty stores you need to get started. You can do things with just a Player's Handbook, some notes, stat sheets, and some dice, or you can go all out and get a board with a map and all sorts of fun pieces.

It's really up to you. When we played, we would sometimes use just a single book and go through a quest or we would break out the maps and grids and play on hexes. It just depended on the situation.

Again, your best bet is to go to a hobby store. They'll get you started. I could write a book about how to play D&D on here but I won't.

I play D&G its a great past time thing to play with friend. Its a rpg that has a lot of ideas from Lord of the Ring and its just fun I highly recommend you play it.
