The remains of Eden will never be found; due to the floot that wiped out the earth as it was known in the early times. Genesis 6 starts off by telling of the wickedness of Man, then onto Noah who finds favor in God's eyes. I took the liberty to post the whole of chapter 6 from Genesis.

Hey, I have a book that was written before yours. In fact, it's widely reputed as the oldest written work, about the Antidiluvian times (aka: Pre the Great Flood)... Let me post a part of it. Keep in mind it was written originally in Old Babylonian, but parts of this translation also come from the Akkadian revision. I'm sure you know all about these ancient languages, since so much of your faith is based on them.

Epic of Gilgamesh. Oldest written recording, and strangely enough, it also recounts information about the Flood which ended the Ice Ages, about 12,000 years ago. Probably because that's when Mesopotamia was created, when the Ark landed in Iraq.

I'll study the record in my spare time, it will give me something to do when I don't feel like programming.

I don't like porn for the simple fact that it's like looking at someone naked without their permission...it seems disrespectful. AND it's disrespectful for those people who are with somone to look at it too...because if you're with someone the only body you should wanna see is your partners...

God doesn't hate porn. He created women as beautiful, graceful creatures that we should admire. He also created every last one of you naked, and gave you the ability to reproduce. Porn is the embodiment of all of these gifts given to you by your God. Nowhere in the Bible does it say anything against pornography in any way. You would have to really grasp for straws to find such a passage (a technique commonly employed by religious people in order to try to force their viewpoints onto others).

I could probably show you a dozen passages in scripture that could be used to show how pornography is wrong. It's not really that difficult.

The progression from old testament with don't commit adultery to new testament where if you lust after a woman in your heart you've already committed a sin pretty much puts pornography into the sin category in my books.

I'm not disagreeing with most of what you said. We should admire women. We are also born naked and can reproduce. But porn does not embody any of that. Porn does not lift anyone up or make us better. It degrades both men and women.

Of course the Bible doesn't say "Thou shalt not view pornography." It didn't exist back then. There were no pictures of naked people. The technology wasn't there. That doesn't mean that the principle that the bible does mention about lusting after women in your heart and committing adultery in your heart is somehow no longer valid because it doesn't specifically say pornography.

I really can't stand people that need to be told absolutely everything they can or can't do and if something isn't spelled out explicitly then they justify themselves in doing it.

Most of what you've said here is opinion, and you're entitled to your opinions. However, I'd like to point out a glaring error in your post. You have stated that pornography "didn't exist back then". Sure it did. Pornography predates Christianity by about 5000 years. Furthermore, pornography only degrades a person if that person feels degraded, otherwise that is merely opinion and/or speculation.

Me personally though, I don't need someone else's set of rules to determine right from wrong. I would like to see these scriptures though that show that pornography is wrong, especially considering you have also stated that it didn't exist back then. You've got me curious, especially since I've read the Bible from cover to cover many times.

I think he does mean "adultry" though. They didnt have the internet back then.. so it couldnt have existed , but when it comes down to it, it is adultry, and the bible is against adultry (as far as I know).

I dont think adultry is the right word for it, but back then, there wasnt a word for pornography either. Its more like, when a man see's pornography he immedialty gets sexual thoughts.. (not being sexist.. but you know..)

But that doesn't mean you can't repent for such a sin. Any sin can be forgiven, and thousands of times if needed just as long as you truly mean it when you repent for the sins you repent for because God knows your heart.

What an ironic portion of the Gospel. Continuing on from there, we also learn that we should pluck out our eyes, cut off our hands, never get divorced, and give all your clothes to a complete stranger.
