Come on people, you can't get any better than the original The Legend of Zelda for the NES.

Sure, I love the fact that Link has finally made it into the 3D world in games like OoT, MM, and WindWaker, but the original will always be the best in my book.

Zelda 2 was definately the hardest. I still can't seem to get my way into the final dungeon...I think getting there is harder than beating it <.<;

I agree that the original zelda was great but it a much elss involved story than A Link to the Past. So A Link to the Past gets my vote, as I stated before.

My gosh! Must have mastered those statues better than I thought possible. The only ones I never had trouble with were the blue ones with the knives. The regular armos statues were just too unpredictable...

I always hated Zelda II. In my personal opinion, it was the worst zelda game to date. For that reason it is the only zelda game (that has been relesed in the US) that I have not beaten.

Yes, it was very different, but I felt that it was the worst. Thats just my opinion though. My best friend thinks it was the best out of all the Zelda games.

Even so, I can stand that it's side-scrolling (except on the map) and the "Leveling" system. Neither of those features should ever be in a Zelda game. Ever.

Seriously the worst Zelda games were on the Phillips CD system.

The Leveling system is basically in Zelda all the time. OoT for example deku shield goes to Hylian Shield goes to Mirror shield, and Sling shot goes to bow and arrows they go to fire and ice arrows they go to light arrows. So the Leveling system is quite intact in Zelda.

By leveling I mean the fact that you gain experiance and have to choose to increase your hearts, magic, or attack. It was Nintendo's attempt to turn Zelda into a full RPG, something it shouldn't be.

As far as the Phillips CD, I've never heard of the system, let alone any Zelda games for it.
