My personal favorite 3D Sonic game is a tie between Sonic Adventure 2: Battle and Sonic Unleashed. They both had awesome gameplay and some great music (though I prefer Unleashed's soundtrack a bit more). Colors is at  close second too. I would probably put Generations up here as well from what I've seen, but I don't own a PS3, Xbox 360, or 3DS, so I have no experience with it yet.

Wow all you people said Sonic Adventure 2 but since my sister played the first level over 200 times since she wanted to get stuff for her chaos. I have to say Sonic Adventure it was done by sonic team before the SA 2 became their last one to work on.

I have not played a lot of the 3D sonic games. However my favorite is Sonic generations because you can play as modern or classic Sonic in any order you want, and SEGA finally got the 3D Sonic gameplay right. The game could use more levels though. I beat it in one day.
