When aeries is there alone, thats right before she dies isnt it? I think she knew it was gona happen, and it had to happen. FFAC decrypts aeries as 'Mother Nature' or sorta a 'Jesus' figure as i stated before.

What the hell was she thinking anyway that she was going to become more powerful when she is dead. That part of the story doesn't make any sence why she died. Back then I didn't know why she really died, but more I learn about her death just makes me think why did she do that for. Weird.

I don't think Aeris knew she'd die, or she'd have probably at least said goodbye to Cloud or something. She probably just knew she had to cast Holy before Sephiroth could cast Meteor, and that altar was the place where her power would be strongest, since she would draw from the power of the Cetra. Similarly, Sephiroth would have to be in the middle of the Crater to cast Meteor. It was just a race or sorts. So I don't see how the world would have died if Aeris didn't. She gets up there, she casts it, she rejoins Cloud and tells him he'd better pray that she got her attack cast first. They find out that Holy is being "blocked" by Sephiroth, so they continue on their quest to destroy him. Not that hard for the storyline to continue with her alive.

Anyway, toastpaint.

Pointless characters... I don't think Rinoa should be in this. She was shy, but not pointless. And like it was said earlier, she was the main guy's motivation for fighting.

There are plenty in FF6 though... Gogo was pointless (as far as storyline anyway), Umaro, Gau, and Relm. I'm tempted to bring Strago into that too, but I can see how an old man would kinda want to help out if these guys thought he could. But to drag his 4-year-old granddaughter into a nearly-hopeless fight against a demigod? What was HE thinking?! Moron...

I didn't care much for Lulu. And I hardly thought she was sexy... I'm sure she's probably in her 20s or something, but everything about her demeanor and style screamed "I'm almost 50 and I dress like a s***." Her voice was too old for that character too...and the character's personality wasn't even likable. She just served to piss you off. So for me, Lulu and Wakka get the all-time pointless award.

Actually, Wakka-bashing. I mean c'mon, she pisses off everybody and then gets together with the most annoying of the bunch? You'd think they'd have killed each other by then! Lulu's obviously a smart woman (at least that's ONE good thing about her), but Wakka's got the IQ of a brick. WTF?

Paine.

No character development, almost no personality, no background. By the end of FFX-2, we still don't know jack about her. C'mon, at least make her a character that had a cameo in the original FFX or something... Even Yuna admits Paine is a mystery. BUT...she DOES get some good lines.

She has the HP equivalent to a raisin, not to mention 99% of the healing powers she has are used on HER, because her HP f***ing sucks... And she really can't get up any sphere levels because she dies all the frickin time...

Well i found that the characters from ff9 were annoyin but not useless in the sense of the word. I still dislike that game though.

i think Relm was useless in final fantasy 6 because all i used her for was to get a few lores

i never used him; when i had to use him, he did nothing.
Yes, i never leveled him, but i had more 'useful' characters to level.
