I have not been myself lately. I just don't feel like posting. I mean, there was a time a month ago when I would put in like 50 a day, and I ended up putting up 1200 in a single month. But right now, I'll be lucky to end this month with a total of like 600. I'm just down a little. Anyone got a remedy?

Unfortunately, there is no cure for what you have

but hey, I lose my desire to post a lot, I mean I was posting maybe once or twice a day last month, but you still got other things to do on the board

I would recommend spending more time doing other things on Vizzed (going to the flash arcade, spending more time in the chatrooms, going to the RGR/RTR, etc.). Then like a week later, you'll want to post again. Trust me, when the holidays end, there will be more places to post.

This happens to a lot of users once in awhile, there doesn't seem to be any remedy except of the good will and desire to push along through the posting. I too am sorta going through this type of faze, but, I just made this thought come to mind.... "All the people who never post anymore after posting a lot seem to disapeer... If I don't start posting again, I may disappear too!"... But the thought you should have more in mind is of the Local Mod Post Count Requirement thing

P.S. I ended the faze by the Disappeering member thought, so try to keep that in mind

I haven't really had the desire for the past 3 or 4 months, so I feel ya. I mean, I made 2000 posts in my firat year, which was great. Of course you had to beat that with 2000 posts in 3 months, but hey.

It should be known that everyone goes through a posting slump at some point. Spending so much time at one place doing one thing tends to get boring after a while. It's human nature to find different sources of entertainment. Maybe doing other things on Vizzed might cure your slump, legacy, or maybe doing things other than Vizzed for a while is the way to go. Either way, you will find interest in posting again. An example of what I do to increase my time here is making activities or projects. My thread series of "20 things" keeps me coming back to check up because I know that people will reply to them (even if it takes 5 days ¬_¬) and that way I can reply to the members. Another thing I'm doing is creating a science quiz. It should keep me busy here with members trying to complete it and asking for help. So maybe you could do something like that.

Hrm... this posting of my post in this thread about posting has rejuvenated my feeling for posting... it was only 6 months in the making!

Cryro is totally right its human nature to get bored at doing the same thing all the time. You just have to find a diffrent source of entertainment here on vizzed or somewhere else. But later in the future you will like posting again

legacyme3 : I never really keep track of how much I post or even how many posts I may do in a given day… It’s just never something that I thought of. But I will say that everyone goes through times and situations where doing something that you normally would do and enjoy doing takes a back seat to something else that might be going on in your life.

For me, the one thing that I enjoy doing that I’ve dedicated my life to is my work. I have spent many hours over the years working on material and performing various tasks for people that I work for and such. The thing that happens when one devotes so much time to work and such is that time often can go by very quickly and, relationships with friends girlfriends and even family can take a back seat to priorities.

The last couple of years I have hit a couple of slumps in regard to my work which has basically been due to some personal problems but, it was important for me to show those I care about that I was willing to take a step back in regard to my work when need be.

The last year in particular has been a little rough in that I haven’t been able to work at my norm which is and has been a downer for me… I am hopeful that this year I will be able to finally get things to turn in my favor where not only will I be working at my norm again but maybe even making a little more money then I have been which if you’re a freelance journalist or pretty much work independently in any field you know how challenging it can be at times.

Basically, what I am saying is you shouldn’t feel bad if you have a life outside of what you do to relax and such. I myself am happy that a site like Vizzed is around because it serves as a much needed diversion when needed so although I don’t have the time to contribute as some others may I do what I can when I have the time. That’s what it’s about for me and if I can offer advice that might help someone then I feel like I have helped in the best way possible.

Hmm... From what I have seen, the more time people have been putting into the chatrooms, the less their posting desire has been. For example, you . For another example, NotJon. He (as far as I know) doesn't spend much time in chat. And I'm having an extremely difficult time keeping up with him in post count. So why not try posting a bunch first, then go into chat if you want to talk in there?

see, I see plenty of people who come along a make a lot of posts in a short period of time that tell me how they think they can get to 5,000 by a certain date or catch me by some other date.... and I just wait for this exact thing to happen. It happens to EVERYONE. I'm going through it too.... I've only posted about 400 times in the last 30 days. That's pretty low for me I do want to post more but I don't the desire and the amount of posts being made here right now is low...

we need some controversy or something to shake things up.... I might start pushing for that to be honest.... a shake-up in the staff is imminent

I dunno, I just needed an excuse to start posting again, my post desire has been lacking and to think I'm on the hot seat gives me more motivation. =) So I'm gonna keep posting like my job depends on it.
