Those are still just local mod powers lol. Full mod gets to mod any forum without having his name as a moderator. I think you meant you can now make posts.

Anyways yeah, once we get the site launched officially that will help.

I don't know about spending several PARAGRAPHS on it (though everyone knows how long my posts can get!), but to answer the question, Square-Enix has set a goal for us of 20,000 signatures. I think it would be a good idea to over-achieve a bit and jack that up to 25,000 signatures, so there you go. The numbers I see us reaching. As for what we hope to accomplish, umm... Yeah, that IS an "obvious" answer that you should know the answer to whether you can see the site or not! We would like to have CT fully remade from the ground up. Not a PSX-ish re-release, but an actual reMAKE.

To cite some examples, Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete was a remake of Lunar: The Silver Star. Huge difference between the original and remake there. And no one pointed fingers at Game Arts for remaking their original classic.

Sword Of Mana is a remake of Final Fantasy Adventure (the first Seiken Densetsu game and the true root of the Mana series, thus making Mana actually an offshoot of Final Fantasy). I haven't played FF Adventure, so I'm not sure how similar they are, but I'm told the comparison is quite astounding.

FF7 for PS3. If memory serves me right, I think I heard that Square has given in to the fans and decided to go ahead and create the FF7 remake rather than just stop with the Tech Demo.

(Hmm, looks like I AM going several paragraphs here!)

Anyway, this shows that gaming remakes have tended to do well so far. A remake isn't instantly doomed in the gaming world as it sometimes may be in the film world. As for common concerns that having a CT Remake would subsequently mean no more sequels, no one can imagine Square giving up on FF after remaking FF7.

And as for the Mana remake, the remake hasn't shown Square to have any intentions of "closing" the Mana franchise. On the contrary, they have announced a project to revive the popularity of Mana with SEVERAL new games spanning a number of platforms. I think we might look for similar results with a Chrono Trigger remake as well.

Michael's all confuzzled about what I meant with that edit. Oh well.

Jake, you didn't have to say all that, you know. They'll see it for themselves when the site gets put up.

There was no way for Zylo to know what questions would be answered on the site. I think it would be a good idea to answer our signers with courtesy when they are asking honest questions. If we weren't going to give him the site URL (which we've agreed we're not doing yet) we should let him know what we're about so he'll know whether or not to check the site out when we release it. I support Jake. Sorry Stoney.

I have a question... It might be silly, the answer might be somewhere where I haven't seen it, or the answer is 0, but anyway...

How many signatures do you guys have until now?

We don't know yet; I haven't checked the PO box this week! I haven't checked it since like 3 days after the site launched. I'm a little scared to, to be honest. (Either for fear of the PO Box exploding when I open it, or for fear that there's nothing in it.) Guys? Anybody sent in some sigs?

I'd sign a petition, but there is no reason paying 70 euros or something just for one more signature... If I had met somebody from Greece who has played the game, I'd be glad to send a signed petition. Well... I'd better start looking for people.

Went ahead and checked the PO Box during my lunch break. Received 1 page with 4 signatures on it, from St. Paul, Minnesota. Of course there may be (and likely are) more, but just haven't been sent in yet.

And I have to admit that honestly, I myself haven't even printed & signed yet! Guess I might as well use this one from Minnesota...

Hmmm... Let's say that... We need only 19,996 singatures. That is, 0.02% until the CT remake. Um... That's a beginning anyway.

Don't forget, those of you who are getting these signed... Go to your local gamestores and get employees to sign it. Then, if you and the employees are good buddies, try to get the employee to keep a copy of the petition so that customers can sign.

For example, if the employee notices a customer buying an RPG, the employee may ask, "Have you ever heard of Chrono Trigger?" Yeah, I've heard of it...great game. "Well there's this petition to have it remade... Square actually knows about this and is cooperating. Want to sign?"

Well, there's also the idea of attaching the info about the petition in your sig in CC, and/or ask Zeality to post a news topic with this subject.
