Personally I just act all casual and never say anything, eventually, they talk to me. Friendships are formed based on the fact that I am the quiet type. So how about you guys?

Same here really. I'm pretty antisocial so I don't build real life friendships that easily unfortunately.

Say hi, smile, and the rest would depend if you really are fit together or not.

I usually make friends without trying. Sometimes on accident, I can sometimes get the most annoying friends, but I just don't have it in me to tell them to shut the hell up. I usually get a cult following (That's just an expression) of people who know me. I'm not exactly sure how it happens though.

I just talk to 'em, get to know them, and try to be nice. I may help them with homework or let them borrow a dollar. Just little things like that can get you a few pals.

But for a friend, you really gotta know 'em well.

The best way to make a friend is to be a friend... it's pretty simple. You may be shy and it my be uncomfortable talking to people, but you get to be comfortable talking to good friends.

This may sound weird and all, but I'm just this kind of person.
I will be walking down the street or something, see someone I'd like to be friends with, just approach them and say "HI I'M SOPHIE!" really loud. Then hug them.
Sometimes they look at me weird and walk away. But the really nice ones will stay with me and we become the best friends ever. (: I'm not trying to sound stupid or anything but I'm actually being 100% serious. THAT's how I make friends.

I have made most of my friends by pure luck. Whether I find myself in a strange situation or something, that is how I have made the majority of my friends. My first friends were made when I was in 2nd grade. It was recess and my Dad came by the school fence with my sister. He told me to try and talk with these other kids playing tag after I asked if I should even bother. I made my first friends.

In 5th grade was when I made an important friend (my longest friendship thus far). I was actually making fun of him for getting the answer in class wrong (he said squid, I think it was octopus). Before him though I made a friend who wore a turban. I didn't know that he was a boy at first, but, my curiosity made me start talking to him; I honestly can't remember. Another friend I made because we both liked Legos.

In 8th grade I made friends by association of the friends that I made by luck. Ooh. Around the end of that year, I was hanging out with my friend (let's call him Squids) and his cousin, who I didn't like. Then, one day, we were all at his house and my cellphone rings. My "Master of Puppets" ringtone went off (thanks Grandma) and that sparked interest in him to get to know me. To this day, I still consider him my best friend (and my Grandma's calls are always welcomed lol).

My other best friend I made while I was actually just beginning to leave one of the saddest times in my whole life. She was too! She may just be my bestest friend. She really has done so much for me.

My friend DemonFang on here I made during Squids' cousin's birthday party (my best friend). He was there. I kept saying that he was cool. I requested his friendship on facebook, we IM a lot, and bam, new friend!

My other friend I found on youtube. She made an obscure video that I happened to find, we both love baseball (Giants baseball), and yeah.

The only friend that I currently have here at college I made by association. She's very nice, gave me some great compliments on my artistic ability and creative thinking, and even though I usually only see her on Thursdays, she saves this place from turning into Hell for me.

There are more friends that I could have included like my journalist friend from Alabama (who just got a new job!), my fellow music fan from PA (the good part jk), and some guys on here. However, I have hw due in about 2 hours; another time perhaps.

Especially when you have a magnetic personality like mine.
New York is the most diverse State in the US...so I meet all kinds of people on a daily basis just by going outside my door. People mostly approach me first to start conversations and if theres chemistry we exchange numbers and build friendships from there. So basically going out and being social......

Honestly I've never had trouble at all making friends on the net or in person. In person i've had friends all through school and after school I keep some of my old friend's plus make new ones from work ,parties, through other friend's basically anywhere. I'm a very social person I like meeting new people.

I am respectful person but always remember respect is earned. Just be social and If i disagree with someone I normally don't argue and let them think they are right.

I don´t, I´m quite aware that I look kinda bad/creepy and I´m a really quiet guy so I don´t approach people since they probably would feel uncomfortable, but I´m all open for chat if someone comes chat with me, but that doesn´t happen often.

Thing is I´m quite different in terms of looks from most other people, I´m a guy with long hair (about 1 metre), my facial features seem to be a bit slow for my age so I have quite a childish face, I´ve got a small slender figure, I wear what clothes I feel comfortable so I don´t wear jeans or other kind of popular clothes, so I look like a youngish loner dude with long hair XD, not the best for first impressions.

Normally when someone does chat with me we end up becomming friends, since I don´t ever dismiss people or anything like that but it generally doesn´t last all too long since I´m not into stuff others find interesting such as late night drinking, smoking, bodybuilding, dogs(my one and only phobia) and FPSs, my good friends that I´ve know for a long time are people like me, we mostly chat online and feel comfortable with that, each playing their individual game at their individual PC and don´t feel the need to meet up that much, I can make a lot more friends online than ever IRL so I know quite a lot of nice chaps, just nearly none IRL (granted my online friends ofc exist IRL but you know what I mean).

I never had trouble making friends. I live in NYC where there's a ton of things to do.I just b walk up to people and start talking & use my charm. I met alot of nice friends this way. But online is a different story it just feels acward. I'm more of a face to face person. PLus i;m a terrible speller.

I just talk to people, Introduce myself. Then just go with the conversation.

I make friends because my wife gets to know someone and I get introduced to her and her husband.... otherwise I generally don't make new friends

No, no, I kinda just... make them. I'm naturally a pretty funny person, and I'm pretteh charming (in a friendship kinda way)... I get them pretty easily.

Well, for me, I just be nice to people, and hey presto, the friends start rolling in. Oh yeah, and act normally. You don't want a friend reckoning that you're a nice wimp, when you're a bully

I walk up and say something random like "I am nobody, nobody is perfect, therfore I"m perfect" or "if you blink now the world will explode" or sometimes "I love you" and just walk away and then they'll start a conversatioin, it's a very entertaining way to make friends!

I usually just start up a small conversation with them, charming that person with my happiness and the fact that I'm a funny guy. Unfortunately, this almost never works, because that is just how you NOT make friends in Los Angeles. However, there are those special people who do become my friend when I do that.
