What are your thoughts on the afterlife?

I believe after life our bodies decompose and get eaten by worms and insects. Then those organisms fertalize the soil with their feces and plants use the nutrients in the feces.Other organisms come along and eat the plants , which ocassionaly get eaten by even larger organisms. Rinse Repeat.

Call it reincarnation if you will but I prefer this term i made up called "ecosystems"

Belegerbs :   Thats actually very interesting. I see some of what your talking about in people all the time. I also noticed placing myself in an invironment like you mentioned helps me find inner peace and I feel better when I can meditate.

Okay. As a born-again Christian I am sure some of you will call me biased. But I must say it is definitely something to think about after reading gameface138's opening post. What happens when we die? Does nothing happen but us merely fading into blackness? This might sound complicated, but I will explain it as best as I can --ask me questions if you have any. I kind of have this notion that, if we do fade into blackness, how will we know if we have reached that blackness? Also, if said blackness exists, did we start in the same or a similar blackness to begin with? I do not know, I am feeling a little weird about these questions --and I am the one asking them. Moving on, regardless if I made sense at all, this does nothing but reinforce my belief that there is an afterlife and that Heaven and Hell exist.

I hate to say it, but this subject is very scary to me. I became very depresses over it recently and am suposed to be on medicine. My wife and others think Im skitsofrentic. Anyway, I want very badly for there to be a god, and a meaning behind all the things I can see. "sob, ......remorse...guilt....pain".

To me.....i think its only what we see........its not really an after life or .....uhh......certain places.........its just what we want to see, or want to have........that seems to make it that 'heaven' or 'hell' type of thing..........if u have bad thoughts on the afterlife.....then u might as well think that its hell itself.......but thinking clearly and happy ideas/images can make things good for u to rest in peace or feel safe.......Thats just the way i see it......


*EDIT* Well, im pretty sure if there is an after life.........its how they judge u........and i meen the people upstairs judge u.........if u stay true to urself and other people +faithful.......then of course theres a right direction into heaven.

I'd rather not die anytime soon. =| But when I do, I hope that the afterlife exists. I don't like thinking that you're dead and then ... nothing. It scares me. =s What happens then? My body will decompose, sure, but I'd rather my soul go SOMEWHERE.
