So, in the game, Dr. Halsey (creator of the Spartan-II's like the Master Chief and Noble's own Jorge), gives the remaining Noble team a package. She says that it's a Forerunner AI that was discovered. It's Cortana. Now this makes me rage. Cortana is the result of a brain scan on Dr. Halsey. It says so in Halo: The Fall of Reach, which covers the motivation behind the creation of Spartans, the actual gathering of the children, the training, and missions. ALL before Reach actually falls. It tells us how Cortana was created. It pisses me off to no extent that Bungie disregarded Nylunds fiction to such lengths.

Oh, and something else: Nylunds books are canon. In case you don't know, that means that it officially takes place in the Halo timeline. In other words, Bungie, the creators of Halo, went out of their own timeline. Good job with that one, Bungie.
