Speaking of these things. I just upgrades to McAfee 7.0... the hole suite. It is absolutely amazing. The whole thing just works great. I would recomend it over Nortan anyday.

The problem I've always had with McAfee is that it's so thorough that it insists on scanning EVERYTHING you do. The, um, what was it called... VShield... Slows the comp down a LOT. It's like I can't move my mouse without it scanning the movement first.

I use Sophos Anti virus and it scans everything, although its never been a problem for me. I would reccomend it to anyone, rather than using s*** like Mcaffee or Norton.

I've never even heard of it. I have the McAfee suite, which includes privacy service, virus scan, spam blocker, and personal firewall plus. When it comes to virus stuff, i would usually go with name brand.

Kinda makes sense. Like how someone said that more viruses are made for AIM than for MSN or Yahoo... More viruses would be designed to get past Norton and McAfee than, say, Spy Sweeper.

Sophos is primarily used by huge companies on their networks, there is a home edition though. Its much more professional and at least in my opinion better than any of the bigger consumer programs.

Since its used in mission crtitical services it has to be effective.
