There are some movies out there that are just plain out out blow out of the water and they make it seem like its such a great movie. What do you people out there on Vizzed think?

Overrated movies of this generation have got to be Twilight & Harry Potter.

I don't like the vampires but if I had to pick a good vampire movie it would be "Once Bitten" and as for Harry Potter, I would rather go with LOTR.

Just not a fan of movies these days I will always stick to the good 80's and 90's movies

Good effects and all, but the story has been done many time before.

To me it seemed like a combination of Pocahontas, and an anime movie called Interstella 5555...

The Harry Potter and Twilight Series are by far one of the most overrated movies!

I agree with GoogleMe16 that Avatar was way overblown. It's worth watching once for the CGI, but it has absolutely nothing else redeeming about it. Titanic was overblown too, but not as badly as Avatar.

I felt the Harry Potter movies were good, at least til 4, then they got stupid. And the books were good til 6, then THEY got stupid. LotR was good, but would have been better if they didn't cut out so much.

The Twilight Saga is soooooo overrated. I can't stand hearing "Oh Edward you're soooo hot" or "Oh Jacob can I pet you?" When those two aren't even that good looking. The story is good, but not awesome or anything. Honestly, those movies have made more money than Titanic and E.T. put together and they're nowhere near as good as either of those movies. Grrr.

Just not the big fan of Scarface..... it is over hyped and yes so is Twilight.
I like Avatar still however.

How about the Godfather? Plot line was just boring for me and I don't know how it became so popular.

I have to agree with Avatar. I went into that movie with the impression that it was a pretty great movie. I have to agree with the above posters, I kept thinking 'this is just Pocahontas'. My friend enjoyed it because she saw the South Park episode of Avatar beforehand, which made the movie really funny for her. Unfortunately I did not see that episode beforehand, which made it feel like one of the longest waste of time I've felt sitting in a movie. Though I do gotta say, to anyone who's seen Avatar and didn't enjoy, watch the South Park episode for it. It really makes up for the time you wasted watching it. I think going into a movie with overinflated expectations really ruins it for me. That's why I try not to read or hear any reviews about movies before I see them, so I won't taint my personal views on them.

I found The Godfather to be very interesting. Then again, growing up in an Italian family listening to "experiences" and watching movies like that i learned to like it. I like Harry Potter a lot, but i do agree the 4th movie was the last good one so far. The books were alright until about 6. There were a few parts from it that i liked but not many.

The NUMBER 1 overrated movie goes to Twilight. Its a bad book, bad movie, and leads to bad conversations. I have had so many fights with my friends, girls, about why the book and movie is crap. I hate everything about it, and it doesn't deserve to even be playing in the theaters. It deserves to be something only die-hard fans and occults find in the searching online. As for the characters, i can't stand Jacob or Edward either. Edward lives in a forest, doesn't eat people and sparkles. That means he's a FAIRY. As for Jacob, i don't know why so many girls are into Beastiality. And Why does he take his shirt off every 10 minutes or so? I was forced to watch New Moon, and literally almost every scene he was in, at one point he was shirtless.

i think twilight and avatar and stuff are overated.But the movie i was let down most by was Citizin Cain. From what i had heard i thought it was supposed to be the best movie of all time.thats actually what i was told.It was a good movie but the best movie of all time it wasnt.Even the end when you finnally find out what rosebud is it was just a big let down.What rosebud was,was so stupid that it just ruined whatever good points the movie had up to that point.I was expecting so much more.
and some others i think were overated....

Legally blonde.

Pirates of the Caribbean is another overrated movie to add to list, Hook is a way better movie!

300 and the 2 newest Batman movies should be added to the list. 300 just seemed awful to me and the Batmans were mediocre at best.

i dont get all the hype about twilight, my girl made me go watch new moon with her, all it is, is a ripped guy trying to show off on camera that magically turns into a wolf? how is that entertainment?

I the most underrated movie I've seen would be the Twilight Series. (check my post Criticism of Twilight to find out more on my opinion).

Have any of you guys even seen Twilight? If you're going to hate a movie at least hate it because you saw it not because the crowd says so. To me the most overated film is 2001: A Space Odyssey.

While Kubrick is a love/hate director for me, but I've never seen the magic through it. Sure just like Avatar it has one of the best visual effects in movie history and next to Star Wars. But apart from the effects it goes on. And on. And on. While I can see why Kubrick included it since it was from the novel and from again in a visual standpoint it's beautiful. While the conversations with HAL and Douglas are amusing, it's really not worth the wait and it's more of a film that I'd watch with a remote control on fastfoward.

I thought Avatar was sort of overhyped and overated. It was pretty good but it really did not deserve the praise it was given if you ask me.
