I just got back yesterday from camping with a cold I've had for a while and today I've been a bitg disoriented. My left hand was a bit groggy (not quite asleep but almost) for a while when it moved to my tongue but it's gone completely now. I'm still a bit disoriented right now and I have a slight headache, and I was wondering if I should worry about this or just take some Pepto and get over it.
You better believe it.

I'd probably give it a few days to see how it goes, if you feel better don't think there is any need for the doctor, it was probably just a virus that made you feel weak not sure about the left hand thing though..

You are a fading dream, but one that has been touched by reality. Run, dream. Run on into the daylight. And walk into reality.

Thanks! While all this was happening I was watching the episode of Lost Tapes about the devil dragon... I didn't sustain any injuries while camping unless you count having a dead jellyfish with no tentacles an injury.

I think that you should be just patient for a few days or a week. I'm sure that it's not anything important. But if the symptoms getting worsed, you'd better call a doctor, in any case.

By the way, this thread fits more in "post about yourself" forum, in my mind. So, I'll ask some help...

geeogree : Could you please move it?

Nah those symptoms are nothing to extreme, I've had things like that before and I am normally fine in a few days to a week.
Just have plenty of fluids and some asprin and you should get better quickly.
Lemon juice is good to, especially if your throat is hurting, as it burns the germs away.
And plenty of rest helps, under a blanket helps if you get cold shakes/shivers.

Thanks everyone! I am totally fine now. The next day I woke up a little disoriented, but I've gotten over it, and have drank lots of tea (and nearly waterlogged the sewers), and I'm fine now. Thanks again, everyone! Just wanted to make sure I wasn't dying or something. Geeogree, you can close this thread now since I think there's no point in keeping it open (unless people want to use it to get medical advice or something like that).

Nah, I'll not close it, we usually prefer keeping threads openned.
But I'll close it, if you want it.
Just let me know

Well, I need it now... I was trying to pull off an extra little bit of toenail while taking a short break from playing Super Mario Brothers (by the wat, does anyone know any good Game Genie codes for it?). I realized it was a bad idea about a minute later whem I noticed my big toe (the one I was pulling the bit of nail from) was bleeding. I just sprayed some alcohol (which Momma conveniently had in a spray bottle) on it after clipping off some of the extra nail and put a Band-Aid on it. Should I do anything els about it? Should I go to medical school?

I think it depends on what ripped, it could just be it tore some skin from under the nail towards the top, which you shouldnt worry about to much.
If it's at the sides it could become the beginings of an ingrown toenail if you are nto careful, but no need to panic just keep it clean and observe it.
If the bit of nail was a fair bit past the join at the edges you probally just tore some skin.
Be sure to use nail clippers next time

Tido : Well it is September and that usually means that the weather is slowly starting to get cooler… By the sound of it you probably caught a bug… I would take some medicine or aspirin to get rid of the headache but if you’re light-headed and are disoriented you should probably go see a doctor to make sure it isn’t something more serious.

It does seem like you might have caught something that could have been going around but if your symptoms don’t go away and you don’t start feeling better I would call a doctor and see what can be done. In the meantime I would drink fluids and eat soup and get as much rest as I could. But, if this has been going on as long as you’ve said it’s probably time to make a call.

Hope you feel better get well soon.

Thanks! After a few good nights' sleep, my headache is gone but I still have a cold (not surprising for me). I was just singing Elbow's Audience With The Pope and I had a cough attack during the guitar solo and almost puked. Something like that happens every time I try the song, but I don't know why. What happens?

I don't really know what's wrong, but if it's something seriously bothering you and goes on for more than a week or more, you should go to a doctor. Also, with a tingling almost asleep feeling that was in your hand and then moved to your tongue, and having your foot start bleeding without noticing it, maybe you're developing leprosy. You should check if you can still feel things normally with your hands and feet, like putting on something really warm and also something really cold, applying some pressure to them and see if you can feel that, and also maybe pinching them a little to see if you can feel that it hurts. Yeah, leprosy is extremely far fetched and unlikely, and I don't actually think you have it at all, but it can't hurt to at least check, LOL

Tido :
I know what it feels like to be sick as a dog and get spells where you cough and you can’t stop. It’s hell, especially if you have the Flu. I would consider going to a doctor or at the least a walk-in clinic. If you’re still dealing with this you probably have something going on that you want to get checked out. I know from experience that going to a doctor isn’t pleasant and I myself often do everything I can to avoid going to a doctor even if it is for a regular check up.

It sounds like a silly phobia but I have always been that way even after spending much of my childhood in and out of the hospital. A couple of years ago I went through a couple of months where I just wasn’t feeling right, I was getting rushes in my arms couldn’t sleep even had fast heart beat Etc. It even got to the point where I couldn’t do my work. I ended up getting massive anxiety because I was thinking that something was wrong but was hell bent against going to a doctor. After months I was finally convinced to go to the doctor and get checked out and it turned out I had extreme high blood pressure.

Although I am not like I was prior to that, I am better today to the point where I am no longer considered to have high blood pressure though I do still deal with the effects. I doubt that your element is as bad as that but I would still go get it looked at so if nothing else you have peace of mind.

As for the sensation from your hand to your tongue I was going to hypothesize that an alien parasite has invaded your body (which was killed off by your immune system, unless it remained dormant), and that if went to your stomach.....

However, what you are going through may just be seasonal. But, you should check with a doc regardless. Anything lasting that long may have consequences if you wait any longer.
