Elara : I also said that it would be extremely unlikely that they would be able to change the amendment, I didn't agree that guns should even be banned in the first place.
geeogree : You actually went through with the Dr. Doom thing?! You're 3x more badass now lol
Bobbynibbles : People murdered each other just fine years ago with swords and knifes, ever hear of the crusades? Plus, there was no way to trace criminals to their crimes back then either . . .

Sephitard9001 : I know. I actually liked your response because it is very true, if they want a gun they will find a way. The fact that people still manage to get their hands on assault weapons despite the bans shows that.

Elara : Exactly. But I find it unnerving that criminals and gang members seem to get automatic weapons so easily. The laws don't seem to do their jobs when they're ACTUALLY needed.

I think it should be taken into consideration that the right to bear arms was a product of a different time. How often does someone really need a gun in the current society? I don't even think that I've held a real gun before and I don't ever see myself getting one either. I don't like guns. I wouldn't mind that right being taken away. No good comes from using a gun. What good does ending another person's life do?

i wouldnt say gun activists are the same thing as the kkk,not by a long shot.
But arguments for keeping guns are pretty poor.people who hunt would still have a license btw,you can own guns in uk you just need a good reason.as for oposing your government,1,a gun cant stop a tank.2,the irish managed to get them when they needed.
A few americans say to me uk sucks, because we dont have guns for protection, yet uk murder rate and gun crime percentage is well below the american.guns arent toys, and unless you can shoot bullets outa the air they dont 'protect' you.there have been huge numbers of political assasinations, huge mob wars, and massacres when idiots go into schools with one, what about that politician who was shot in head, didnt the gunman kill a 5 year old as well?again, guns are not playthings.what about the plane in americd, they realised theyd been hit by a bullet upon landing.there was a guy on tv who was in america and he was in a helicopter,he kept hearing pinging which turned out to be people shooting the helicopter. id love a rocket launcher but i realise how dangerous some people are,so it shouldnt be legal.

Sephitard9001 : Dude, I know that people where killed with swords before guns. My point is that guns do not put the user in harm's way, like swords might. A sword fight is a dangerous situation will with guns you can stand back and kill someone without them even knowing. Making something easy draws people to it.

But it is not a danger like cutting off your own hand with a sword. Guns have been refined to the point where there is not much chance of the gun exploding or misfiring, if proper care is taken. A sword needs training if the user plans on not hurting themselves or the people they do not mean to hurt.

thenumberone : That's ridiculous, I could just as easily research and name murders or shocking events in Europe. Your argument means nothing considering you're naming CRIMINALS. You clearly don't realize that these laws/amendments were created for the law abiding citizen. I could say that ski equipment should be banned because bank robbers wear masks, using your logic.

Sephitard9001 : yeh, research, when something like that happens in europe its headline news across the continent, when it happens in usa its, oh, another massacre, oh well.
actualy i stated that while most would not abuse the powers there are too many who would, those who deny it are just iresponsible, like i said it would be great fun to use rocket launchers etc but fact is theyre not toys, innocents will be killed.
your argument seems ilogical, my point is guns cause death, who has been killed by a ski mask?i dont know whos logic you used but its sure not mine

Bobbynibbles: a misfire could blow your fingers off.while they have been refined, they are still dangerous and require training,i watched a video where a us cop came into a school to teach gun safety,he pulled out gun and shot himself through foot.i cant believe he even took a loaded gun into a school, proof that morons plus guns = bad

thenumberone : You say that since some people use guns to commit crimes, they should be banned. I said that using that line of logic, we should ban ski equipment because people use them to pull off heists. If criminal + gun = Ban, then shouldn't criminal + ski-mask = ban as well? The answer is absolutely not. That's just ridiculous, do you even realize that there are some people who feed their families using guns?

thenumberone : Oh, because large scale killing isn't a crime? And by using guns I mean hunting animals, not robbing liquor stores or anything illegal. You support the ban on guns because of massacres that happen; would you support the ban on, let's say, sledgehammers if someone used those to kill tons of people? Also, don't take everything I say so literally. If I name an object, it could mean anything of that sort that fits the criteria. Sledgehammers weren't made to be weapons, but they can be used as one.

Sephitard9001 : yes large scale killing is a massive crime but small scale crime will always be present.like i said,in uk hunters ARE allowed guns, but in ura you dont need to have a good reason to get one.the point with guns is,its pretty damn hard to stop them,if i walk into a store or a school with a gun, odds are you couldnt stop me before i kill someone, quite possibly many people.if i walk in with a melee weapon your odds are much higher.given sledgehammers are not designed as weapons, are not much good as weapons, non concealable, and that uk police would seize it off you if you had it outside for no good reason,i dont think they should be illegal

Elara : My point was that I wouldn't have been surprised if the Second Amendment was somehow overruled--America seems to becoming more-and-more corrupt by its current government; that's just my opinion, not the world's opinion: my intent was not to bash liberals so I don't think there is a debate here.

Second Amendment: What Do You Think?

I don't think it goes far enough in recognizing such a right as self-defense and the power check against the state. If Bill Gates wanted military-grade stuff such as missiles, tanks, drones and such, more power to him in my opinion.

thenumberone : That's just it though, people need to realize to simply NOT do things like that. F*** taking away guns, just impose EXTREMELY high penalties for misusing them. I'm not talking death, I'm talking something more severe, like mind numbing drugs that destroy someones conscience and mind.

Sephitard9001 : but people wont realise that, the vas majority of people who do it are detached or plain psycotic,as for normal criminals it just makes there 'job' that much easier, my view is that if you dont have a valid reason to have a gun it shouldnt be allowed, not that i believe it would ever happen in america, its probably too late anyway, but i would be seriously angry if they legalised them here, again, that will never happen
Edit-Is that really a good idea?theyd be better off dead than like that,id rather be killed, plus it would cost the taxpayer a lot to keep them alive in that state

thenumberone : Of course you'd rather be dead, that's the point. Why do criminals get the leisure of sitting in prison and living the "free life". I say that because they get everything for free; food, sleep, etc. This sounds hard to follow, but my step-dad's boss's wife worked at a penitentiary, and the inmates got to play PS2 sometimes. I mean, what the f*** is that?!

I say that because they get everything for free; food, sleep, etc. This sounds hard to follow, but my step-dad's boss's wife worked at a penitentiary, and the inmates got to play PS2 sometimes. I mean, what the f*** is that?!
