do you believe in any myths? i believe in ghosts and aliens but thats about it, besides the ones that are mentioned in the bible.

Call me superstitious but I believ in aliens, ghosts, and bigfoot. I also freak out about giant alligators.

I also believe in ghosts and aliens. Bigfoot, lockness monster, mothman I could believe but not a fan of those. Ghosts and aliens are the interesting ones to look at and study

Aliens as in other peoples living in the universe? Yeah, totally. It's even said that there most likely is life in other galaxies.

Not to be a stickler, but I think you should change the title to something like 'legends', or maybe 'the unexplained' because none of these things that have been mentioned are myths.

Aliens: there is a very high possibility of their existence, just not the ones that people think of (the odds of them resembling anything on earth, even a little, are incredibly low)

Ghosts: not a myth, but not either of those other two categories either.

Bigfoot: legend, and there is some evidence that has yet to be disproven.

Giant alligators: that's just a fear, not a myth at all.

Loch Ness monster: same as Bigfoot.

Mothman: ?

Yeti = Himalayan Bigfoot.


Now, do I believe in these? Sort of. I do believe that there are "ghosts", but not like they are generally portrayed. I think they are more like presences than humanoid demonic things. I don't really believe in Bigfoot or the Loch Ness monster, but I definitely think that there are aliens out there somewhere.

I guess I'll throw in my opinion:

Aliens: I believe in the possibility, but I'm skeptical.

Ghosts: Not in the traditional sense. In cases where they're real, I believe that they're angels and/or demons.

Bigfoot: I'm open-minded. One of my old youth leaders even had an encounter with Bigfoot, but it is a little odd how they're pretty much everywhere.

Giant alligators: A proven urban legend. Sorry, not real and thank God for that.

Loch Ness monster: Well, I believe in sea monsters, but I'm not sure about Nessie.
Actually, some people claim that Nessie was killed by global warming, which is an even bigger urban legend than the monster itself.

Mothman: Photoshop. Or GIMP. One of them.

Yeti: Same thing as Bigfoot, just like how Nessie is just another kind of sea monster.

I don't believe in myths. The bible is not full of myths.

The word "unicorn" is actually translated from a generic word for a one-horned animal *cough*rhinoceros*cough*, and griffons.... well, there was somebody on deviantART who did a study on it and figured that the word was actually referring to pterodactyls, but who knows?

Anyway... I do some study on myths... myths in video games (A lot of them in games made by Rockstar for some reason).

But myths in real life, I wonder what you actually meant by myths.

Do you mean Greek mythology ? or do you mean what everyone else is saying (aliens and ghost) ?

I don't believe in myths like thinking it is 80 - 100 % real, but I take myths as "there is a small chance of it being real."

But if it is stuff like unicorns and goblins or some sort of fantasy creature, then NO, 0 percent, life outside earth maybe, but NOT fantasy creatures.

I dunno what to say anymore, but untill the thread creator, *SUBJECT NAME HERE*, gives a definition of the word "Myth" to me us , I can't write much.

Hoochman : the bible talks about a one horned horse and a winged beast thing in heaven sitting by gods throne. however that could be taken several ways. but it does talk about a dragon and yes it uses the word dragon.

drag00n365 : You people sure take things out of context. I am well aware of the passage of a one horned animal, and no it isn't a unicorn. And when the bible talks about the dragon, it is referring to the devil, and not the physical fire breathing animal from medieval times. There are lots of things symbolic in the bible.

No, I do not believe in various myths and unexplained phenomena. The bible is the bast non-copyrighted work of fiction of all time. I highly doubt there are aliens. Yes, I realize that the universe is vast, blah, blah, but aliens would most likely would have a much more advanced civilization than us. Bigfoot and all that lot? Some drunk guy thought he saw something and it was passed down through the generations. People will see what cannot possibly be with the power of suggestion.

I believe and want to see crazy stuff that lurks in the depths of murky/ unseen teeritory in water. Its crazy what mere water can hide.

But who cares, I think that everything is about perception.
