So, just as a random question, who here is a black belt? I have one in Tae-kwon-do, and I'm going to get my second degree after I break a brick at a demonstration next week. I might sprain my hand, but I can do it. Basically, does anybody have a black belt, are you close getting one, do you plan on getting one, yada yada yada. -------------------- |

Yes, I finally got mine, and I'm pretty close to becoming a second degree as well (probably in October; that's when the next test is). I like it a lot, so much fun when people try to push me into pools and I can just turn around and sweep the guy and push him into the pool, and the board breaking is a plus (not onto bricks yet, good job being able to do that!). It's great for school demonstrations- I just broke three for a class demonstration and it certainly got a decent wow factor. It makes me feel so much eviler and kick- Mine's in Tae- Kwon Do also. Out of curiosity, are you going to be going to Nationals in July in Ft. Lauderdale for sparring? (so many prepositional phrases in that sentence) Mine's in Tae- Kwon Do also. Don't worry, I find that breaking is far more impressive than sparring. It would have been really cool to see a person that I had met on Vizzed at the tournament (albeit somewhat creepy) -------------------- |

Still, I've always admired the way people who spar can actually defend themselves in nearly any given situation. Breaking is just a way to show you have the skills, but not necessarily know how to use them in real life. I can do sparring, but I just can't seem to hit the opponent. -------------------- |

But seriously thats cool, and good luck. make the brick your B**** One lil story. I was at a party where this guy was talking about he was a black belt in some martial art I cant remember which one. Anyways, he got in a fight with some guy, and I was like "alrite lets see this dude do some damage". But to my surprise the fight was over in 10 seconds with the blackbelt dude on the ground. Either he was lying about being a black belt or he was a black belt and his chin still was a white belt. But seriously thats cool, and good luck. make the brick your B**** One lil story.
