I've always disliked the fact that there are only grass (lots of weaknesses) fire (best fire moves learned late) and water (usually ugly) pokémon in the starting types.

But with generation four, they added secondary types for all three starters. If you could pick your own secondary type, what would it be?

Also if you have ideas, how would the pokemon be?

For the grass type pokémon, I'd most likely have the secondary type electric. For water, I'd go for ice 'cause most of the ice pokémon are super adorable. For fire, I think I'd go for steel. I can imagine it being very few weaknesses. =D

I'd choose Grass/Dragon Water/Ground and Fire/Ghost just because Grass almost always the worst subtytpe (except for 4th gen) Water/Ground has always been a good type and Fire/Ghost would look awesome

I think Fire/Psychic, Grass/Dark, and Water/ Fighting would make an interesting triangle. Mainly because I want to see a Fire/Psychic pokemon, but also because these have been speculated for years and it hasn't happened yet. (Hopefully Generation V will help...)
Or, as a joke, a Water/Fire, Fire/Grass, and a Grass/Water combination. Just for kicks. Actually, I hope they stay the same. My favorite starters were by far the Generation II guys, and they were all single type. Guess we'll have to wait and see what happens...
