I hope this isn't already a thread... But I was just wondering what you guys think Square Enix would do for the next couple games. I think they're actually going to remake... maybe ALL of them up to 9! haha. I really think so. Because, think about it.
They've already remade III and IV on DS, I expect V to come to DS as well. Then, VI would probably be on DS(though I hope it instead would be on PS3, I love VI XD). They must make remakes for those if they've already remade III and IV
And, as much as people have already said this, I believe that VII will be on PS3 probably ON the Compilation of FFVII's 20th anniversary(end of Compilation).
But then, if VII was remade, then they'd sort of be obligated to create remakes at least up to the last PS1 release, IX lol.
Is my logic flawed? Am I not the only one who thinks that Square Enix would make a crapload of money doing this? Huh? Plus, I'd also like to see a Chrono Trigger 3D remake as well(Vizzed did support that whole petition thing right? Correct me if i'm wrong...)

As much as I like the FF series I wish they would stop remaking them. The first time they remade them for the GBA was fine, but no more please!

Actually, I only have a PSP and a Wii. But I can still download it from the PSN store, but I don't have a network account and I'm not over 18 lol. I'm not sure if my parents are gonna make a master account for me...

If there is any of the Final Fantasy Games that should be remade, it should be Final Fantasy VII. It is considered one of the greats of the series, and is the only one to have a scene that is considered by many to be a Top 5 Shocking Video Game Moment. A graphical update with Final Fantasy VII can only be as good or better then the original.

Square Enix only remakes the classic final fantasy games. They will probably stop at the FF VII remake for the ps3, coulden't see them remaking past 7.

I honestly like the games better as old nes 8-bits, but the remakes do let younger people play the nes and snes ones that are hard to find. As long as they put time into remakes to add certain aspects, and stop making crappy spinoffs instead.

chugchu : Well I'd like them to remake the ones that are older just for the sake of how I'd love to see how far they can go with a 3D modern remake. I do dislike the way they just remake I and II over and over and kind of the same with IV how it's on like four systems now XD.
And what do you mean by crappy spinoffs, most oftheir spinoffs are pretty good actually(Crisis Core, Dissidia, FFTactics...) Though, I've never played Crystal Chronicles, I heard that's pretty bad. Are you talking about those?

mdynasty926 : You're saying that you liked Crisis Core? Personally it bored the crap out of me. But, I guess out of all the spinoffs it was one of the best. Crystal Chronicles is supposed to suck, Dirge of Cerberus sucked, the Kingdom Hearts spinoffs were bad except for Chain of Memories, it was okay. And I don't count FF Tactics as a spinoff, it was amazing. I'm just saying that they keep milking spinoffs and remakes for profit, like you said FF I and II. Most of these games lack quality because Square Enix is becoming all about profit, ever since the Final Fantasy creator left. One remake is enough for each game, maybe 2.

But I do support Hironobu Sakaguchi's new company Mistwalker. Thumbs up for Mistwalker. Yay!

It was a great game(and I'm not one of those FFVII fanatics since I haven't played FFVII before, but that was great) The battle system is pretty nice, sure it needs work, but it's still fun and the story was great too I mean, come on, that ending's pretty moving XD. Dirge of Cerberus... I never played either. I haven't played any Kingdom Hearts but I've never heard anyone diss them either... do you not like emotional type games? XD
And, FF Tactics is a spinoff, if you're gonna say Kingdom Hearts is one. Especially since Kingdom Hearts isn't exactly a spinoff, it's a series separate from FF. But I really liked FF Tactics(the original, I haven't played the others yet.) because of how deep the story was(it was outrageously twisted, and that's either a good thing or a flaw, but whatever.) and the gameplay's fun too.
I really don't think they're trying to make spinoffs for profit as much, but remakes... sort of. But I feel like they also want to satisfy customers, and as FF III wasn't released outside of Japan, it was a nice move for them to remake on DS FFIII for the US and EU fans. And well, I love FFIV too. And they haven't really remade any other games over twice other than FFI and II. So, I think they're fine for now.
Mistwalker, I haven't played any games by them either(I really gotta get with the program -.-) But I really wanna play that new game coming out for Wii, The Last Story. It looks like it's gonna be great!! ^^

I think they will stop att 6 the reason they remake it is because they didnt get realesed i USA untill 7 so i think its as a sorry they re realese them and i think its nice and crisis core whas decent dissida pwnd i love it still playing after 70 hours and im not done yet kingdom hearts whas also awesome and i have to say i just love what square enix is doing.

will222 : Actually the US got FFs I, IV, and VI before they released VII. Then came the Playstation ones and all the remakes and everything lol.
Except, Square had renamed FFIV to FF2, and FFVI to FF3 for the US, making the whole order weird(I can't imagine how US players reacted when all of a sudden they released VII.) Then afterwards it was all cleared up when Square remade them all and stuff. The only one that really needed to be remade and sent over to the US was III, since that never really touched the US(at least not officially, with fan translations and all that.)
And yeah, I love Dissidia . It's a pretty great game and I've went well over 100 hours O.o
But I wish they'd expand on it a lot more. Like, they could add so much more music, and have more characters and stuff. Plus, the story was a little bland... but it's good enough the way they had to combine all of them together. I expect to see a sequel real soon XD.

mdynasty926 : maybe i expressed myself wrong i knew they got I IV and VI but i think since those where on the same consoles (i think it whas NES and SNES) and not 3-D yet i think they only remake them but also I IV and VI as a kind of sorry.

And i would love to see dissida 2 where the normal enemyes wasnt just crystal versions on the charecters and maybe more charecters and weapons and i agree the story whas a little meh i think if the cutsenes (not including the ending scene) could have been on other places than the same places as they battle.

Yeah I think there needed to be a lot more character development. Like, the voice acting's pretty spot on and the characters and stuff really live up to their original concepts and all, but like you said, they sort of just talked about what's happening on the places where you battle on and there's like no other setting. I think they should totally remake their story mode(a la Subspace Emissary in SSBB) and that'd be great.

Every single mainstream series Final Fantasy game was released in one form or another on the PlayStation (except III) so there is no need to remake any of them.
Just make them available as they are (from the PlayStation versions) on the PSN and that's enough.
Why ruin good games by modernising them, they lose some of their soul that way I think.
It's ok for some games like FF8 that were already 3D to smooth them out and such, but dont go raping games like FF6 by replacing all the sprites with 3D ones.

Money is the need, they know there are tons of FF fan boys out there who will rebuy a game cause of updated graphics Just like how they remake DVD's into Blueray double the cash!

JigSaw : Actually after doing in depth research I found out the FF dev team dont want to do any remakes, especially not FF7.
Their reasons- It would take time away from developing other games, it would take too long, they dont make RPGs like that anymore opting for the new style of gameplay they have, and that "it would cost more then it's worth".
