BNuge : Thanks man. I bought this from you in the Layout Shop. I just have one question? Can you make the picture take up the entire red space? Basically, what I am asking, is if you can move the picture over to the right, an then flip the character picture and put it on the left? I think that would look better. No offense, this is pretty awesome, that's why I bought it. I was just wondering if you would be able to do what I mentioned above?

I probably have a higher screen resolution than you. And your layout has the same problem on my screen (though only slightly). The thing that causes it is you set the text box width as a percentage and set the outer div's width to 100%. So even though the image itself isn't as wide as the entire post, the div is. So using a percentage for the text box means that it could be bigger than the image. You could fix that by just setting the width to a specific amount rather than a percent, or by giving your text box a max-width.

The way I code my layouts, there's really no plausible way to do that. I set it to 800px width since that's the general minimum (or so I've been told). I make all my layouts fit within 800px.

Most of my layouts fill the entire post area because I add extra background and set the width to 100%. A good example is this Tempest King layout. The div tag for the text is set so that my post won't stretch past 800px, but the actual fire background will stretch to up to 1500px across before becoming a solid color background.

The problem here is that the picture I used was made by someone else. I don't have the artistic ability to stretch that picture out any further. If I simply resized it, it would become massive vertically which would look bad. Part of the picture would also get cut off for people who have smaller screens.

I think it was DarkHyren (Global before your time) who told me that 800px x 500px should be the default in order to fit all screens instead of just my own. Would you agree with that?

BNuge : Ok, I'm going to be COMPLETELY honest here. The huge signature quotes on the two earlier layouts are obnoxious to see. Do you think you can shorten it down a ton? For example, instead of that whole quote, just have it say "Don't you dare die alone."?

meh. Those two quotes are the reason I made the layouts. Kaien Shiba is important in the series, but he doesn't say very much and those two quotes are among the best. Shortening them down takes away from the epicness in my opinion.

BNuge = I guess that's very slightly true, but when quotes are just as long as those two, taking up so much space and such, it gets really annoying :/

It also makes the post have the need to scroll very early, which can get really annoying too.

To put it simple, it reminds me a lot of his signature. Really huge and pretty much unnecessary... Anyways, again, it's best to shorten the quotes down to at least one or two lines.

Another option would be shrinking it down to a good, small size, cause at the moment, it's just stretching it much more than it should be normally.

BNuge : I don't think there's actually a rule about it, but yeah I suggest don't use a fixed width more than 800px total for layouts.
