Has this site ever ran into legal trouble? Is it legal? (The summary not a million words)

Is this site truly scalable and secure should it be? or should it only be for a small group?

Is there anyway we can get Final Fantasy V and VI (old ver.) on here?

I'm back on here after like 13 years BTW

Obviously a WHOLE lot has changed including the Pandemic and AI.

So the biggest thing I know of that has happened is Nintendo games getting removed. I know various public threads can be found but I don't think any show the reason why pubicly. I could be wrong. This site is I would say a gray area more towards black than white. If a company does want their games removed though the owner will remove them. Forum though is 100% safe assuming no one posts anything illegal. Tgags123, Sonicolmstead, or I hopefully catches those pretty fast but since we are restricted to being at home to see sometimes it slips by for a couple hours.


I would say this is "scalable". There used to be back before 2016 a lot more active people. Inwould say over 100 on the forum side. Still have couple hundred on rgr side most are just not signed in.

Most security issues I know of were restricted to the site like basically people having permissions to edit certain oages they weren't supposed to. Even then that was locked down to visual stuff. The owner has stuff pretty locked down to where only he can make major changes. Not saying it is impossible but someone would have to know what they are doing to hack the site in any meaningful way.
Another security thing is Global and higher ranks are IP restricted so I can't even access my account when not home.


Are you taking about the snes versions? Trying searching with V instead of the number. As far as I can tell they are still in the rgr.

The site is secure, it is scalable (used to have substantially more active users than it does now), and like pokemon x said, the only legal trouble was Nintendo requesting that their games be removed. I want to say that happened sometime in 2014 or 2015. That's pretty much the only thing that can happen—a company requests that their games be removed, and David complies. There's no legal concerns for the users.

tgags123 : Thanks for the links to the games, I should have said it'd be nice to have the Steam Final Fantasy V and VI (old .ver) able to be played on here because the Steam FFV (old Ver.) had all the extra content of the GBA and PS1/PSX version of the game and there's even mods to update the music

But now that it's permanently gone from the Steam store, I was hoping it could be preserved here.

Also, from 13 years ago till now, I always thought that what made this site 100% legal was that the owner is basically renting the game to users on Vizzed via viz, so it's not illegal game copying, and any audit by any company to verify that should be OK.

My guess, based on what little knowledge I have, as to what might still prevent certain games from being on here would be a company threatening to take the owner to trial, not to win a case, but to rack up legal fees.

(Eventually, video game preservation is gonna have to have a final verdict, especially for older games, like seriously.)

I think steam games themselves are probably never going to happen. Unless you can somehow emulate an exe file? Even then I doubt it will happen here at least.

The biggest thing is DMCA takedown requests. If he refuses to take it down they can then take it to court.

Not saying where or how since for one it hasn't happened yet but there could be a preservation be done but it definitely won't be public access for everyone to see.
